So make a choice not just on the basis of placements but also consider other important factors.

How good is KJ Somaiya for a PGDM in Retail Management? How are it's placements and average package?

The PGDM in Retail Management at KJ Somaiya is a relatively new course and not much can be said about its worth. But I have a friend who is currently pursuing RM at KJ Somaiya. According to him, it’s a good choice for someone with interest in this field to pursue this course because The courses at SIMSR are at par with international curriculum. Great exposure and learning through events held throughout the year. One such main event is the Retail Mela. Many committees and student clubs have been set up to promote extracurricular activities The faculty is experienced and qualified. It does not undervalue the new courses at all. One of the best campuses of India with great infrastructure and facilities. The companies that you should aim for are Ikeya, Walmart ,Future Etc. All this makes the course worth trying.

Comparing the 2 B Schools that are KJ Somaiya and NIRMA, I would say both are equal in terms of placements, opportunities and exposure. The only factor you need to consider here is location. NIRMA is a good choice if your hometown is nearby. But if you want to enjoy your college life, explore and make memories, KJ Somaiya is the best. Located in Vidyavihar, a student-dominated area in Mumbai, it has an amazing campus with top-notch facilities. Placements The table below draws a clear comparison between both the B Schools. Yes, the college provides placement support with an average package of 12.5 lakhs. The college also provides internship support to 1st-year students. The process starts from the month of Augusta and goes until the month of March.

Placements are very good for finance students as big companies come early to campus. Students become eligible to sit for placements from the second year itself post completing their summer internship. There is a roll-on process so companies keep coming. The big 4 arrive early on campus.

For each specialization, various companies visit the campus and several rounds of selection are conducted starting from PPT, GD, case study, PI, and group PI. For marketing mostly sales roles are offered. Very limited companies offer proper marketing roles.

Placement Experience:

We have a placement committee dedicated to the purpose of placement in our college. The student becomes eligible to sit for an internship by September of the year they join the college. There are a number of companies who visit our campus including the big 4 and other leading brands of the industry. In marketing highest package for an internship is 80K and for finals, it is around 20L. For finance highest package for an internship is 80K and for final placement it is 25L. 98% of students get on-campus placement. My plan after getting this degree is to grab a job from an on-campus placement drive.
