Taranjyot Singh Review at Concordia University, Montreal | Collegedunia

So far, it is great to be a part of the Concordia University.

7.5 /10

I chose Concordia University as it is located in Montreal, one of the biggest IT hubs in Canada. Moreover, the quality system engineers were having much more demand than before, during the current enrollment years.

Course Curriculum :

The course curriculum is quite extensive around the practical implementations of quality engineers in real-world workplaces.

Exams :

Yes, I had to submit a CV, SOP, LOR, and Degree proof. In my CV, I highlighted my education along with the internships and different certifications I had completed. Apart from that, I also mentioned my co-curricular activities along with the humanitarian work I did for society. I had pretty good relations with the professors at my college, so I managed to get LOR's from the HOD and the Dean of my course. For my SOP, I mentioned and everything about myself ranging from my family background to my future aspects. No, I did not have any round of interviews or specific tests for my admission.

Placement :

There's one thing while studying abroad, that each and everyone comes down to only one aspect while selecting you for the respective post you have applied to and that is your skillset and your command over it. This makes you readily available to the companies and you have an ample number of opportunities. There are job fairs and networking programs where the chances are very high to get to know where you stand in accordance with the eligibility criteria of the various companies.

Internship :

No, I have not opted for co-op or any internship yet but there are plenty of options for the same. The only hurdle is the minimum GPA requirement to be eligible to apply for the same.

Events :

Concordia's infrastructure is one of the best amongst the Quebec universities. There is an ample number of workplaces, discussion rooms, presentation rooms, a five-floored library, and cafeterias along with student co-operative free food kitchens. All the classrooms are well equipped with the aspects of digital as well as blackboard teaching.

Fees :

CAD 30000 is the total fees for my program.

Scholarship :

No, I did not receive any scholarship as there are few to nil scholarship options for international graduate students. But there are financial awards and scholarship options when you are admitted into the university depending upon your performance and research areas.

Faculty :

The faculty is experienced and help every student on the steps they feel stuck at. All the professors I have had courses with were all co-operative.

Hostel :

I live off-campus as I find it much more convenient and flexible. Off-campus living costs me around 350-450 CAD per month if it is a private room but if it is in sharing it costs between 270-350 CAD per month.
