Farah Review at Concordia University, Montreal | Collegedunia

Concordia University, an awesome place to be

F
8.5 /10

The supervisor I am working with is amazing. I knew I would be able to work in any field, however, I knew I could also be made to hate any field if I hated my supervisor. So I chose a good supervisor, in a decent field. Rather than a field, I was more interested in, but a worse supervisor.

Course Curriculum :

Not enough course selection. It is a small department, so there are very limited choices in terms of the curriculum in graduate studies. However, the undergraduate curriculum is excellent with a co-op option to allow students to gain industry experience and connections.

Events :

There is a strong sense of community at my campus, therefore we have several events throughout the year. The first being welcome week events such as a picnic and party on the campus. There are also several sports teams with games one can attend throughout the semester.

Fees :

Students pay tuition fees of around 1500-2000$ per semester for Quebec residents. However, fees for international students are much higher but still lower than in many other places.

Scholarship :

At Concordia, you are automatically entered into the scholarship pool for the scholarships for which you are eligible. If you win one, you will be contacted to redeem it.

Examination Structure :

Typically this is dependent on the professor for each course. Mostly, one or two midterms and one final. There is typically a mix of multiple choice and short/long answer questions on the topics covered in class.

Faculty :

Amazing. The teachers here are actually very good and very dedicated to their jobs rather than solely focusing on their research. They are friendly and available. The school has a strong sense of community.
