Film School Review

E
7.5 /10

It was the best one for the Film Production program; it?s in the Fine Arts Faculty which emphasizes cinema as an art and not only as communication. Plus, I knew that most of the teachers are in the film industry which would open my doors for after graduation.

Course Curriculum :

It's a bit hard for the first year, as there are a lot of obligatory theory classes (Film Studies). But after year 2, we are focused on production classes which make the course fun, interactive and interesting.

Placement :

It mostly works with contracts and grants, but teachers tell us so much about what's possible for us and present us to so many people in the industry so it's easier for us to get a job after school. If it's not on film shoots, it's for a production house, for TV or just by applying for grants to make our films.

Internship :

It?s not included in the curriculum, but my teacher offered me 2 internships in the film industry that also gave me 3 credits each! It was the best way to enter this world and get real experience outside of school.

Fees :

2000$ by semester + every cost related to making a film (food for your team, transportation, location, etc.) It can become up to 5000$ for a film.

Scholarship :

No financial aid but I got 2 scholarships that I didn't have to apply; they selected students based on a good GPA (mine is 3.03) for in-course scholarship and the other was because of a film I made any my participation on other film shoots.

Examination Structure :

In Filmmaking, there are no big exams but mostly projects that we work on during the semester (writing a script, making a found footage montage, a sound project, making films, writing a grant, etc.). We sometimes have exams, but it?s more focused on practice.

Faculty :

Faculty of Fine Arts is well developed here and encourages students to participate not only in-class art projects but also in after-school projects.

Hostel :

I am in an apartment with my boyfriend, 30 mins away from school so it works pretty well. I get to live in a small building where most of the people are my age and helps each other a lot! So that's a big plus.
