- Intelligent and diverse peers: have recieved overachieving batchmates and seniors and since this is a university, one can find students across fields of engineering, science and Arts.
Dislike
- The math section is quite tough and cannot be easily cracked in so little time.
- Only a couple of companies came for placements in the Arts department, recruiting only a handful of students. The placement facility in the Arts department is very poor.
- There are no such things that a student coming from a poor family will not get admission, etc.
- The washrooms are very dirty, and overall, the hygiene of the campus is not splendid.
- The walls of the rooms are dirty, and we have a major problem during the rainy season due to rain sewage.
- There is a delay in the delivery of information. Work is procrastinated here. This requires attention and needs improvement.

Placement Experience:
Students can apply for on-campus internships from the 5th semester and for placements from the 7th semester. Many companies from Google, Amazon, and apple to Deloitte, Razorpay, slice, grab more than 150 companies visit campus and make offers of more than 1.9k Last year's highest package was 1.8 cr per annum from google London for the SDE role. Around 80-90% of students get placed in JU and ETCE has a 100% placement record. Though college offers great placements, I'm willing to do an MBA after my graduation.
Remarks:
You have to pass West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for admission to JU. But a special quota is here in engineering admissions for Kashmiri students who can get admission only based on JEE mains score. The application form is available in the month of December. For verification and spot Counselling, the student has to go to the college physically. It would be better if the whole admission process would be online
Placement Experience:
The placements in JU are very good. It happens throughout the whole year and you can sit for it if you have the required skills or experience. And if you didn't get placed on-campus you can always opt for off-campus and prepare yourself for further education which is also a very good option. Students can sit from the 6th semester for the pre-placements. And the percentage of students getting placed is like 95/100.

The admission process is being done by giving the WBJEE exam or also by JEE and you must get a good rank to get into Jadavpur University. You can find the application form online through Jadavpur University's website. Not sure about the reservation benefits.

Students are eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. Students can sit for internships from the 5th semester. Companies like Google, Amazon, DE Shaw, Deutche Bank, Slice, Wells Fargo, Morgan Stanley, Accenture, PwC, ITC, Samsung, Salesforce, Razorpay, Flipkart, Atlassian, etc. are prominent recruiters. More than 150 companies came for placements and more than 1450 offers were made. The highest CTC was 1.8crPA by Meta for the role of SDE and the average package was 12.8 LPA. More than 90% of students who registered for placements got placed. I plan to have a job after getting my degree and maybe pursue higher education later on.

Candidates should have qualified for their Higher Secondary examinations from a recognised board with a minimum of 60% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology. The application details can be found at www.wbjee.nic.in. The counselling is very smooth and efficient though it can be conducted earlier.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose this course because there lot of government jobs in the civil engineering Dept. There have student and faculty ratio is about 1:10. faculty are highly knowledgeable and experienced .there have per yr 2 semesters and 4 class tests per.
Remarks:
Eligibility of the course is 12 in science background. The process of applying for the course is through wbjee exam. Reservation is all rule of West Bengal .for west Bengal 85%. there Have only one exam and then counseling through wbjee portal.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The faculty is very good. The faculty members and course curriculum are very good and it is known not only in west Bengal but also in India. There are almost 40 teaching members. They are all well qualified. There are internal exams as well as semester exams. If one attends the classes, it is easy to pass the exam.
Remarks:
The admission process is based on 12th-class marks in physics, chemistry, and mathematics. In the case of the absence of chemistry, it is based on the marks of computer science. Marks are counted in this way (2×physics marks + chemistry + maths). Out of 400, for the general category cut-off marks are more than 390 and for the reserved category, it is more than 380 according to the previous year.
Placement Experience:
U will get eligibility from 1st year and can avail semester from 2nd semester. Many companies like Facebook, amazon, Microsoft, and google visited this year. The highest package offered was 1.8 CPA and 10.2 LPA an average. In IT 100% of students are placed. I want to be a software engineer after my degree.
Remarks:
If you are from the general category then you should have 60% minimum marks in the board exam. U will find wbjee application form on the official website. If u are from west Bengal then u will get a 90% reservation. No improvement is required.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I have taken the Information Technology branch as I was interested in coding domain. The faculty:student ratio is about 1:10. The teachers are very friendly , well qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching style of every teacher is not so good. You will have to study of your own some of the things. There are class tests, sesional disclosive and semester exams , viva for practicals. The semester exams are moderate , you can score a good marks by preparing 15 days prior to examination. But to score above very much marks you have to study hard. The course is very flexible , you will get enough time to explore new things and follow your passion.
Remarks:
There is an entrance exam through which you can get seat in Jadavpur University, the exam is WBJEE. The notice for the exam comes nearly in the end of december or in early january. Registration process also start nearly from january. The exam happend in the end of april generally. There are two papers one is of maths contain 100 marks and another paper of physics & chemistry combined 100 marks. Questions are very much similar to the PYQs of WBJEE JEE mains and advance. There is about 90% reservation for West Bengal domicile students and all other caste reservation are there. After the result is out you can get admission through WEJEEB councilling.
Placement Experience:
For master's, campus placement is less compared to bachelor's courses, Company visited less in numbers, but still, 30 - 40 percent of students get placed, some went for Ph.D. in IIT, and some got placed off campus. On-campus placement average package is around 4 lacs.
Remarks:
For admission to a master's in technology, you need to qualify GATE exam, based on the gate score you can apply to your respective colleges. For Jadavpur University, I applied online, the application fee was 500, then after 1 week, they called us into the college physically for document verification, and after 10 days they shortlisted Students for admission. The admission process was very smooth.
Placement Experience:
Best Placement last year's placements stats was the highest in the chemical batch nearly almost 95 students were placed out of a batch of 99 and one international offer was in the core branch. That too some have got like 3 to 4 offers
Remarks:
Based on WBJEE rank. Cut off of rank below 2000. You need to get 100/200 in WBJEE. So one of the best colleges with low fees and great infrastructure and professors. Even Has NIRF rankings of 4th in Engineering.

To get a seat in Jadavpur University's engineering department your rank should be under 5500(for the general category)to be safe (upto Decentralised Counselling)
