Jadavpur University has managed to survive the recession to give its student a handsome placement package. My friend is currently studying there and their placement happens all around the years, unlike IITs where placement happens for two weeks or so. Like most engineering colleges, CSE as usual tops the placement with their highest packages. The most popular recruiters include Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, etc. Almost 100% of students are placed in all the branches. But according to recent placement statistics, IT and CSE also have reached that prominence. Quality of students: Last year, the closing rank for JU CSE was 134 in the 3rd round which is quite high. This definitely proves the craze for JU CSE. As IIEST takes students only from JEE Main, it fails to get that much attention because of the top 3 NITs. On the other hand, JU is undoubtedly the best college under WBJEE, so it gets that easily. Extracurricular activities: You can participate in a lot of activities like Coding Club, Science Club, Linux User Group, Hult prize, etc. This will certainly give a great platform to learn and develop new skills. Helpful seniors: Seniors are very kind and you won’t be disappointed or refused any help. Some seniors also used to teach juniors on weekly basis in the aforementioned clubs. Active and responsible placement cell: My friend always used to see how the coordinators and OSD Maam worked tirelessly just for the sake of the students. Because of them, the CSE’17 batch had an average salary of 14.696LPA. JU IT and ETCE also had a similar kind of placement. JU has a huge alumni base which helped my friend and his peers more than one can think of. Getting contacts and recommendations made it possible to invite a lot of companies for campus recruitment.

Is CSE dual-degree at IIEST Shibpur or EE/Mech/IT at Jadavpur University better placement wise?

Placement Experience:

Students can apply for on-campus internships from the 5th semester and for placements from the 7th semester. Many companies from Google, Amazon, and apple to Deloitte, Razorpay, slice, grab more than 150 companies visit campus and make offers of more than 1.9k Last year's highest package was 1.8 cr per annum from google London for the SDE role. Around 80-90% of students get placed in JU and ETCE has a 100% placement record. Though college offers great placements, I'm willing to do an MBA after my graduation.

Internships Opportunities:

Though being in 2nd year, I couldn't opt for an internship, my seniors have. In such a recession, many of our seniors have achieved PPOs. Internships are available here for almost all the profiles in the corporate world

Placement Experience:

The placements in JU are very good. It happens throughout the whole year and you can sit for it if you have the required skills or experience. And if you didn't get placed on-campus you can always opt for off-campus and prepare yourself for further education which is also a very good option. Students can sit from the 6th semester for the pre-placements. And the percentage of students getting placed is like 95/100.

Internships Opportunities:

There are various types of internships offered by the campus. Like I did training in NML (National metallurgical laboratory), Jamshedpur while I was in my third year and we did a few projects. One was an individual project where you can personally work with one of the scientists from NML And the other one was a group project.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. Students can sit for internships from the 5th semester. Companies like Google, Amazon, DE Shaw, Deutche Bank, Slice, Wells Fargo, Morgan Stanley, Accenture, PwC, ITC, Samsung, Salesforce, Razorpay, Flipkart, Atlassian, etc. are prominent recruiters. More than 150 companies came for placements and more than 1450 offers were made. The highest CTC was 1.8crPA by Meta for the role of SDE and the average package was 12.8 LPA. More than 90% of students who registered for placements got placed. I plan to have a job after getting my degree and maybe pursue higher education later on.

Internships Opportunities:

Several companies like Google, DE Shaw, Salesforce, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, Texas Instruments, Morgan Stanley, Samsung etc visit the campus for internship drives. DE Shaw provides a stipend of 1.5 lakhs per month for various roles like data analysts, web development, etc. Morgan Stanley (Rs 87000 per month) and Deutsche Bank(Rs 75000 per month) primarily hire for the technical analyst roles. Google (1.1 lakhs per month) hired for the software development role.

U will get eligibility from 1st year and can avail semester from 2nd semester. Many companies like Facebook, amazon, Microsoft, and google visited this year. The highest package offered was 1.8 CPA and 10.2 LPA an average. In IT 100% of students are placed. I want to be a software engineer after my degree.

Internships Opportunities:

U will get internships from top companies like amazon, google, Microsoft et. But o don't know much about it. To be honest I heard from seniors that people get internships easily from 2nd year. Any student if he or she is studious then he or she will get an internship easily.

Placement Experience:

For master's, campus placement is less compared to bachelor's courses, Company visited less in numbers, but still, 30 - 40 percent of students get placed, some went for Ph.D. in IIT, and some got placed off campus. On-campus placement average package is around 4 lacs.

Internships Opportunities:

For the master of engineering, they do offer some internship programs, but in my case, Covid happened which has the worst impact on both internships and placements. one company Airbus came for engineering students but opted out due to Covid.

COME TO JU AND SEE LIFE HERE

Placement Experience:

The placements are awesome in ju. Each and every student gets placement in a department every year and the package is 12-15lpa avg ( though it depends on some specific departments). Many students opt for higher studies and they used to get into top institutes like IITs, IIMs, IISC, DRDOs, ISROs, and many more FOREIGN UNIVERSITIES. Placement in ju is 100% and this is why it is a TIER 1 COLLEGE.

Internships Opportunities:

Yeah, there are internship opportunities also for 2nd and 3rd-year students. Many students are doing their internships in many reputed companies all over the india and world also. Both internships and placements are ops in ju.
