The overall eligibility criteria for MSc courses is a graduate degree in BSc from any university recognised by the University Grants Commission. However, the eligibility varies according to specialisation in various subjects.

Anthropology BSc with Anthropology, Zoology, Botany, Geology or Environmental Science in final year with Min marks 45% for Gen/OBC and 40% for SC/ST.
Applied Geology Candidates must have passed graduation in geology with a minimum of 45% for General/OBC and 40% for SC/ST (candidates without Geology as one of the main subjects at the graduate level with any two of the following subjects: (a) Chemistry, (b) Physics, (c) Mathematics and (d) Life Sciences (Zoology and/ or Botany), (e) BTech/BE with the percentage of marks (or equivalent CGPA) as 50% for General/OBC and 45% for SC/ST)
Biochemistry Candidates must have a bachelor's degree with 3/4 years in Science in biological or chemical sciences with a minimum of 45% for general and 40% for SC/ST from any recognised university.

The selection criteria for the MSc degree program is based on a university-based entrance exam followed by a counselling procedure.

Entrance Exam

  • The entrance test comprises 100 objective type questions that are to be answered in 90 minutes.
  • Each question is of 2 marks with no negative marking.
