Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well structured and you are given the freedom to choose any course at any point in time provided you have fulfilled the prerequisites. You are given the freedom to build your own timetable and choose your own professors. 100% of the Professors are experienced and have a well-performed post-doctorate from a reputed university. There is faculty to student ratio of around 1:3 in every branch and you can approach any Professor with your doubts. Evaluations are one of the most brainstorming times where papers are mostly original and are difficult to score higher marks.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum of BITS Pilani for Chemical Engineering includes both theoretical and practical components with a focus on core subjects like Process Calculations and Thermodynamics, Transport Phenomena, Process Equipment Design, Process Dynamics and Control, etc. It also includes elective subjects that allow students to specialize in a particular area of Chemical Engineering. As for the faculty members, BITS Pilani has a strong team of highly qualified and experienced Chemical Engineering professors who are dedicated to providing students with a comprehensive education in the field. The faculty members use a combination of lectures, laboratory work, and project-based learning to help students develop a deep understanding of the subject. They also provide students with opportunities to participate in research projects, internships, and industrial visits. The faculty-student ratio is nearly 20:1 . Term exams are held twice a year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I liked Chemical Engineering. The College exposure was brilliant. In the chemical department, there are almost 15 faculty over 3 batches that would sum up to 300 students. the faculty are well qualified, but in my opinion lacks research interest. term examples are very difficult, you need to attend the classes. though most subjects provide you with slides for preparation we have regular quizzes and tutorial tests that require constant efforts throughout the semester.

Ques. Should I take chemical at BITS Pilani or take a drop?

● Top Answer By Sayantani Mitra on 20 Jul 21

One of my friends studied Chemical Engineering at BITS Pilani. According to him, it is a really tough stream. It is suggested not to drop a year instead ensure that you work very hard. Spend over 12 hours self study every single day for a year. You should be able to get under 1000 rank in JEE next year which might be worth taking a year drop. But if you have secured a much higher BITSAT score, and if you think you won't be able to work this hard, then simply take whatever you are getting at Pilani. Try to graduate with a CGPA of 8.5+ and go for an MS/Ph.D. in any area of your interest. Herewith I'm providing the basic details for BITS Pilani : PARAMETERS BITS PILANI Tuition Fees INR 1.78 LPA Placement Percentage 99% Average Package INR 17 LPA If you opt to drop and secure admission in an IIT, you will be getting only one degree after 4 years. Whereas, you can get 2 individual degrees from BITS after 5 years. There is not much of a difference between BITS and IITs. It is certainly better than the new ones. The top 5 or 6 IITs are better than BITS but letting go of one more year might not be a wise decision....Read more

Ques. Which is better: chemical engineering in BITS Pilani or mechanical engineering in PEC Chandigarh?

● Top Answer By Sugandhi Gupta on 29 Jul 22

Choose what interests you. If you are interested in Chemical Engineering, BITS Pilani is a great option. It offers decent academics and exposure. Core Chemical companies and oil companies recruit from the institute. Schlumberger, ONGC, Reliance, etc. are among the major recruiters for the branch. BITS Pilani placement highlights show the average CTC to be around INR 12 LPA for Chemical Engineering.  But if you are interested in Mechanical Engineering, you should choose PEC Chandigarh....Read more

Ques. Do INTEL recruit from BITS Pilani Chemical engineering?

● Top Answer By Rohit Roy on 19 Jul 21

Chemical Engineering at BITS Pilani offers amazing placements in other fields such as IT/CSE/ETC and others. But one of my friends studying chemical engineering there said he is quite uncertain about it. Top-notch leading electronics companies such as Intel have their base in the USA with 40% of its engineers as chemical engineers. Intel in India does not have a lab in which chemical engineers work. They have desk work in India. But if you pursue your higher studies and apply for a job in the USA then you might get selected in the USA....Read more
