You might not get as many opportunities as you might get for ECE, given that the packages offered for ECE branches are comparatively always better. NIT Trichy would be a better choice than IIT Bhubaneswar for Metallurgy because of the following reasons. The placements are better for in ECE than in Metallurgy. If students fail to get core placement in NIT Trichy, they can still try for top-notch coding and management companies recruiting from the ECE department. There are numerous Technical clubs for first years students who are passionate about Electronics. NIT Trichy has lower academic fees than IIT Bhubaneswar. But it may vary for different courses. The course fee of B.Tech in NIT is 72,100 whereas in IIT Bhubaneswar it is 1.4 lakh. BITS is the better choice among all as CSE has more scope than ECE. And NIT Surathkal is an old institute with a better placement record than IIT Bhubaneswar. Since BITS Hyderabad is the newest among all other campuses and it certainly is a little behind in terms of faculty, infrastructure, etc. But when compared on a national level it is on par with any other institute. It provides the students with a prime location to look for internships and also provides an edge to them if they are opting for off-campus placements. Although the institute provides students with decent opportunities for on-campus placements also. Around 200 companies visit the campus each year and around 94% of the student secured a job through campus placements with an average package of around 5-6 lakhs per annum and the highest package offered was as high as 14 lakhs per annum. NIT Surathkal is among the top NITs of this country. The placements of students of this branch are also good although NIT Trichy and Warangal have better placement records. The average placement package offered at this NIT is around 14.15 LPA and 100% placement was observed for B.Tech batches in last year’s placement drive. IIT Bhubaneswar and DTU are both well-reputed institutes for engineering in India. Between the branches, COE offers more opportunities as compared to ECE. However, you should choose the institute based on the branch you are interested in. IIT Bhubaneswar is considered among the top engineering colleges in India. NIRF has ranked IIT Bhubaneswar at 17th among the engineering colleges. Admission to the ECE program at the institute is done based on the performance of the student in JEE Advanced and the minimum eligibility criteria for admission is 75% aggregate in 10+2. The course fee is 2.14 lakhs (1st-year course fee). ECE is a new branch in IIT Bhubaneswar. The first batch of ECE graduated in 2020. The first batch of the ECE branch of IIT Bhubaneswar was supposed to get passed out in the academic year 2020. IIT Bhubaneswar has offered Electrical Engineering since its inception. But earlier this branch was a combination of traditional Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). fROM 2016, these two batches have been divided. For the placement section, many-core companies, PSU’s and software companies are the recruiters of IIT Bhubaneswar. Placements: In the first batch of ECE placements around 10% went for the core companies like Marwell Electronics and Qualcomm. Many were placed in the software companies including Amazon, Microsoft HSBC, Mathworks, Oyo, Razorpay, and many more. It can be said that the first batch has done pretty well. The aerospace course in IITM is a well-structured course. IIT M is also the top-ranked IIT in our country (NIRF Ranking-1). The placements for this branch have been consistent over the years. In the 2019 placement drive, the institute witnessed 70% placement offers with an average annual CTC of 16.1 LPA. ECE at IIT Bhubaneswar is a new course as it was started in 2016 and the first batch will graduate in 2020. The syllabus of ECE follows the curriculum of IIT KGP and incorporates the latest industry trends. The infrastructure in terms of labs, faculty, etc. are commendable at IIT Bhubaneswar, but in terms of placements for this branch, it’s not as good as the aerospace branch at IITM. The Computer Science branch of NITK Surathkal received an annual package of 18 lakhs per annum. IIT Bhubaneswar ranks 17th in the Engineering Category by NIRF 2019. It is one of the new establishments of IIT. The cut off for Electronics and Communications in IIT Bhubaneswar is 1000-3000. A total of 86% placement was recorded in the year 2019 from the Electronics and Communications department.
