One of my friends completed his MTech in Biomedical Engineering from IIT Bombay and gave an insight into the placement scenario of the same course. Out of 16 students who attended placements from this course, 14 students were placed. Another friend told me that 11 out of 17 in his batch were placed under decent roles. The others opted out of placements. A number of Biomedical companies like GE, Cerner, L&T etc visit the campus and offer decent roles. Many non core companies also allow Biomedical students to sit for their placements and sometimes offer good roles too. A number of analytics and data science jobs are also offered. Top core roles offered here are Associate Analyst, Lab Analyst,etc. Many students even opt for PhD after MTech. IIT Bombay placements 2023 (phase 1) were concluded on December 16, 2022 and the Highest International Package of INR 3.67 CPA was offered. IIT Bombay Highest domestic package stood at INR 1.31 CPA. Till now, 1431 students were placed in 293 companies. Recruiters offered around 300 PPOs & 1348 on-campus offers. Among these, 194 PPOs & 1237 offers were accepted. Students received 71 international offers among them 63 were accepted. Around 25 students received a package of above INR 1 CPA. IIT Bombay average package stood at INR 23.26 LPA.

IIT Bombay placements 2023 (Day 1), 250 Job Offers were made by 46 Participating Recruiters out of which 175 were accepted. During the 15 Days Annual Placement Process, 300 Recruiters were expected to participate. Recruiters like Accenture, Airbus India, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, Shell, Tata Steel and many others made Job offers on Day 1. Before the Placement Process, 300 Pre Placement Offers were made among which 194 PPOs were accepted.

Placement Experience:

The placements of college are amazing. The average package goes up to 23LPA whereas the median package lies at 18LPA. Also, PPOs are provided to several students. There's more than an 85% of placement ratio. My personal plan is to open my startup before getting a degree.

Internships Opportunities:

There are many internship facilities available in the college. Many students enrol for it in 2nd year itself and get a PPO instead of sitting for the placements. This is a great strategy if a student is here for a job

Placement Experience:

There are approximately 400 companies came for placement and 2500 offer has been made this year. The highest offer given is about 4 Cr and lowest is 8 lac per annum, and the average is approx 25 lac. The highest offer is given for tech profile and the average is given for product management and consultant, and data scientist. Approximately 85% of students get placed this year that include B.tech and M.tech. Coming to my interests and plan I want to get a job in my B.tech only.

Internships Opportunities:

The internship opportunity is available inside the campus as a different project under different clubs and different professors. But the best part is that approximately 150 companies came for internships as well, where you can work for experience and you'll be paid for the same nice amount. And you might get PPO (pre-placement offer).

IIT Bombay offers you the best, but still has scope for improvement - which you can bring about! :)

Placement Experience:

Campus placements start in the pre-final semester and are completed before the beginning of the final semester. Everyone is placed somewhere or the other, might or might not receive their dream offer or company, but generally, everyone is able to convert a decent firm's decent offer. BCG, Google, Microsoft, Bain, Mckinsey, Cohesity, Blackrock, Kearney, and Strategy& are a few of the companies that visit regularly. Highest package runs in crores (?4cr/year) for international locations - Hongkong or the US. The highest within India is also close to ?2.5cr, the average package is ~?25LPA. Greater than 95% of students get decent placements. I'll be exploring jobs after the degree, and might go for higher education as well sometime after experiencing a few years.

Internships Opportunities:

Internship companies are again somewhat similar to placements. They offer stipends ranging from ?50k/month to ?12Lakh/month. Companies come from all sectors, finance, consulting, core, IT, software, etc. A few companies are Flow Traders, Optiver, Bain, NRI, Cashflo, etc. Projects are not officially required as such, but students can willingly opt for them under the guidance of the Professor of their choice based on their interests. The outcomes of projects are mostly research publications or conference paper presentations.

SJMSOM - IIT Bombay review

Placement Experience:

In the initial months of the 1st semester, we go through the summer placement process where 100% batch gets placed within a few days and the average stipend for this batch was 3.03 Lakh. The special thing about SJMSOM is that 50-60% of the batch gets PPO from the summer internships itself and thus for the finals only half of the batch competes among each other. The average package for the Final Placement is 28.88 LPA and the highest package is 54 LPA with 100% placement. Almost all top companies from FMCG to Investment Banking participate in the placement process and there are ample opportunities for the students to get their dream roles.

Internships Opportunities:

A diverse set of roles was offered by the top companies from the domains like operations, supply chain, marketing, finance, IT, analytics, consulting, etc. Everyone was able to bag a good offer from companies like Amazon, Flipkart, JPMC, Nestle, P&G, HUL, Kearney, GEP Accenture, PWC, Google, Deloitte, etc. The average (3.03L), median (3L), and highest (4.4L) stipend increased by 26%, 22%, and 20% respectively.

Walking through the gate of school of management

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from the first semester itself. The companies visiting include all top FMCG companies like HUL, ITC, Asian Paints and more. There are placements in finance and marketing including general management too. All of the batches were placed and 113 offers were made during the placement process itself and there are no exceptions who were placed late. My plans after getting this degree are to learn in a dynamic role and grow horizontally before making a name for myself in the SC role at a decision-making level in the long term future.

Internships Opportunities:

Product manager roles, finance roles, SC & operations, marketing as well as general manager roles were offered, and the average stipend of the college was 3.3Lakhs for 2 months. Project outcomes include research deliverables, strategic marketing, learnings, and more. The projects also include going to different cities and working with leaders of companies. The major task is to learn the culture and work of the role to see whether we would be a fit for the organization. Added to this are tasks including market research, data management, and decision-making.
