The annual tech fest of IIT GANDHINAGAR "Amalthea" is conducted generally in January, and the annual cultural fest "Blithchron" is conducted in February. Both the fest are completely run by students, mostly first-year and second-year undergraduate students. All books which are needed for your course curriculum can be availed in the library. You can also find many tech magazines and other books too in the library. All classrooms are air-conditioned and equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi. The library too is air-conditioned and is the go-to place to prepare for exams or to have a casual read. All hostel rooms are air-conditioned. Each hostel has a TV room, a table tennis room, medical facilities, etc. Rooms are very spacious and are cleaned once a week by the maintenance staff. The sports facilities are one of the best across all IITs and other colleges across India. We have an Olympic size swimming pool, a cricket ground with floodlights, a football ground, etc.
All hostel rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, a cot, a bed, a table, and a very spacious cupboard. There is also a night bulb. The Wi-Fi speed in the hostels is excellent. The quality of the food here is very good. Our mess has been awarded the FSSAI for hygienic and nutritious food. Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, and Dinner are provided. The Menu keeps changing every month. There is no separate registration process for hostels.
The campus life is very lively, most students in their first or second years manage Amalthea(tech fest) and blithcron(cultural fest), most needed books are available in the library for borrowing, and the classrooms have state-of-the-art infrastructure.
The hostel rooms are very comfortable with a bed, table and cupboard for each person, they are also air-conditioned in summer, and there are hot showers available. The mean quality is quite low here, the menu is very versatile and covers many cuisines but the quality, in general, is very poor.
