DTU offers a 2 year MTech program in full-time and part-time modes. The program is specialized in 25 courses and charges a total fee of INR 3.35 Lacs. MTech program at DTU is offered through 11 departments – Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics, Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environment Engineering, Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering. As per previous cutoffs, candidates scoring 800+ marks in GATE have high chances of getting selected to VLSI program. Another major specialization, i.e., CSE requires 771 marks in GATE exam. GATE 2024 registrations are over and the exam will be conducted on February 3,4,10, & 11, 2024.

DTU also admits students without GATE scores under Part-time and Sponsored modes. Candidates scoring 85% in BE/BTech are selected for admission. Candidates under Sponsored category are required to submit a one-year employment certificate in addition to the required percentage of marks.

DTU MTech Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates should have a minimum of 60% marks in BE/B Tech/M Sc. in a related discipline.

OR

  • Candidates with AMIE / AMIS / AMIICHE / AMIIM / Grad IETE who possess a BSc or diploma in engineering can also apply.
  • Candidates applying to the full-time M.Tech courses must also have a valid GATE scorecard.
  • Candidates considering applying for a sponsored M.Tech degree should have a BE / B Tech / M Sc. degree in a relevant discipline along with work experience. They will also be required to sit for a written test, in which they have to score 50%. The sponsored M.Tech degree can be either full time or part-time.

DTU MTech Admission 2024

Admission to MTech program at DTU is based on GATE exam scores. The institute offers MTech seat to GATE qualified candidates only. DTU MTech admission without GATE is open for sponsored and Part time students only. Candidates applying for a regular 2-year degree program must score a good mark in GATE 2024.

To get admission to DTU MTech program, candidates with GATE 2024/2023/2022 scorecards are eligible to apply. Please note that the preference would be given to candidate with GATE 2024 over candidates with GATE 2023 or 2023 scorecards. DTU offers seats in its MTech program to candidates who apply for under regular mode, sponsored mode, and part-time mode. The minimum admission requirement for all three categories are:

DTU MTech Application Process

To apply for DTU MTech, candidates must visit the official website i.e., www.dtu.ac.in. The application forms are to be filled online only. Once the details are filled, the candidate has to pay INR 1500 as the application fee. Take a printout of the completely filled application form and payment receipt for the day of counselling.

Applications for M.Tech have to be submitted online.

  • Go to the university’s official website
  • Click on the “Admissions” tab and select “M.Tech”.
  • You will be redirected to the admissions page.
  • Register yourself here. On successful registration, you will receive an application number on your registered email and phone number.
  • Fill in the application form.
  • Upload the scanned copies of the documents required.
  • Pay the application fee online through credit/debit card or net banking.
  • After fee payment, an acknowledgment page will be generated. Print out this page for future use during admissions.

DTU MTech Admission without GATE

DTU offers admission to Sponsored and part-time candidates without GATE scores. Minimum qualification for such candidates is merits in the qualifying degree. Sponsored candidates are required to submit a one-year employment certificate. The minimum percentage in BE/BTech is 85.6% for admission to the program.

DTU MTech Fees

DTU has released a new fee structure for the year 2024-25. There is no much change in the fee structure as compared to the previous years. Fee structure for MTech (Full-time) and MTech (Part-Time) is same. The annual fee is to be deposited online at the time of admission on the official website. Ques. What documents have to be uploaded during the application process?

Ques. What is the fee structure for the M.Tech course in DTU?

Ans. The fee structure for the M.Tech course is INR 1.66 Lakhs per annum. The institute however provides a limited number of tuition fee waivers to students with an excellent academic record.

Ques. Is attendance compulsory at DTU?

Ans. Yes. A student with a minimum of 75% attendance in each subject will be allowed to sit for exams. However, the Dean, authorized by the Vice-chancellor, might relax the minimum attendance required under special circumstances.
