Course Curriculum Overview:

I took economics because I love to study Economics and want to father no about what is there in Economics in depth. My college faculties are good and the student ratio is one teacher to 40 to 50 students which are not so good but it's okay. The teaching style of the teachers is something good. And the semester exam is somewhat moderate to hard but you can pass the exam if you study one week or 2 weeks earlier before the exam. And one important thing be attentive in class during lectures and don't miss the lectures.

Campus Life:

Delhi University is known for its fest and the main fest season comes in march month and the books in the library are available for every genre and in my college, every classroom has an AC provided for the summer season which is the best thing I think. And my college ground is the largest ground at Delhi University.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because economics was my favourite subject during school time. I searched on Google and find that there are lots of career options after pursuing this degree. Every class has around 50 to 60 students and on average there is one teacher for every 10 students. Faculty are highly qualified and mostly have a P.Hd degree. The teaching method is good. After every six-month term exams are conducted. Term exams are not very difficult and students get good marks.

Campus Life:

Campus life is very good here. There are more than 2000 students on campus so we get a chance to interact with many people. There are many clubs and social groups where any student can participate. The library has an ample amount of books related to courses and competitive exams. There is always new magazine and newspaper in the library. Classrooms are well maintained and get clean every day before class time. There is a big sports ground also where we play many sports.

SRCC provides you with a big social life, where in you interact with people, so society works and learns a lot from the environment. Fest seasons are the most famous times in SRCC. Every society conducts its fest in the month of April. Then there is the Business Conclave, conducted in the month of April. Finally, the annual cultural fest is CROSSROADS which has a budget of 2-3 crores every year. The library has 2 floors with 2 sections in it. It has almost all the books related to commerce and mathematics. The classrooms are the best part of SRCC, they have proper lighting, good furniture, ACs and proper ventilation. Else Every class has a projector and blackboards, with coloured chalk. There's a sole dedicated sports complex with the most luxurious features, like the sauna batha, swimming pool, gym, indoor basketball - badminton court, a big ground etc. Drawback- after COVID, Sauna baths and swimming pools haven't opened. There are over 55+ societies for students and they can apply to any.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course for my interest in economics and finance. With this course, one could learn about the mathematical, theoretical and practical spheres of economics. The faculty of the college is quite friendly, knowledgeable and open. Almost every classroom has the adequate amount of attention it needs to have from the professor. Apart from that, SRCC provides you with tutorial classes as well, where students can one on one clear their doubts with the professor. More and better use of technology can be used, but overall it's a proper good learning experience. All the professors are PhD or pursuing a PhD. We have internals and one sends sem external examinations.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

The college fee structure is just fine as it is funded by central government but the cost of living in Delhi particuarly is very high. Even after competitive pricing between pgs, the overall costs are high as they justify them by giving additional amenities , which actually are basic things one should provide like a peaceful place to study, a recreational area etc. Moreover at times faculties at government colleges are irregular or not appointed in time. Due to these inefficiencies, a student misses out on studies and then the only way out is studying from tuition groups. Now the tuition groups are also sometimes very misleading. Some students who are not from Delhi are their easiest soft targets. They lure them with attractive advertisements and sometimes even fake records of their student success stories. A confused student generally falls into such baits.

Campus Life:

However college is stressful, and campus life compensates for it all, especially when one is studying in the north campus area wherein the entire area is a student hub. Anything you look at around is student-centric, the cafe pricings are mostly reasonable considering students' budgets etc. The Patel Chest area is a hub for students to get their study material from. From photocopied readings to actual books, study material for almost all courses are available here. The Xerox photocopy is a saviour for srcc students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose Economics Hons just because of having an interest in studying economics while I was in class 12th. I have listened from many people that it is the toughest course you have ever listened don't opt for it. You will drop after a year if you opt for this course and many more things which losers or uninterested persons say. But I just listened to my heart as I always do. When I started studying for semester-1, I was like my decision was right that I didn't listen to those people and opted for this course. Because the course was not that much hard and also I was enjoying it when I study it. It really seems easy to me. Also, my professors helped me very much, they were the ones who made the course that much easier for me. They supported me whenever I want. They never said no to solve any doubt. I am very glad.

Campus Life:

There are many societies in my college like drama society, dance society, singing society, placement cell,e-cell, entrepreneurship cell, angel investor cell, etc. Each society has its own value at its best.No one can compare any society that one is better than the other because all are doing their best and providing the best facilities and the best part is all of the societies which I mentioned above are handled by students. Regular basis group discussions occur there where all students share their thoughts, ideas, problems, jokes, poems, etc. All behave like a happy joint family. No one denies anyone for help at any time.

The course is comprehensive and deals with core macroeconomic microeconomics and uses proper statistical tools to work on the quantitative side. The three-year course structure was made in phases and as the semester worked on the difficulty levels enhanced .exams at the university of delhi are tough but can be solved if the conceptual subject is clear. Student-teacher ratio sustains at 1:60. Faculty is highly effective.

Placement Experience:

Internships are mostly in the field of marketing and alot of them are unpaid however placement cell has now been dedicated to working on bringing more paid opportunities. Placement cell is very active in the job market, companies like pwc, EY and other big men's do come for recruitment but vacancies are very less

Course Curriculum Overview:

Economics honors is a very rigorous course and involves a lot of math including calculus. The economics department of Ramjas has excellent faculty who have doctorates from prestigious colleges like the Delhi school of economics, ISI, and JNU. There are 20 marks for internals which can be conducted by the faculty at any time. Further, 75 marks are for externals that are conducted at the end of the semester. Lastly, there are 5 marks for attendance and anyone having more than 85% attendance is given full 5 marks. The internals conducted my the teachers of Ramjas were more difficult than the external exams conducted by the university at the end of the semester.

Campus Life:

Because Ramjas is located on the North campus, there are a lot of opportunities for students to socialize. Ramjas has societies like Enactus, placement cell, backbeat- the singing society, Melange- the art and craft society, woodcraft- the writing society, entrepreneurship cell, consulting society, and the MUN society. There are 3 types of fests- the college fest, the fest of different societies, and the fest of various societies. Most of these happen in the months of Jan-Feb. The fest season is in late march and early April. The annual fest Reverie is very popular it occurs on April 1st week. Several departmental fests also take place during the season. Fest season is full of enthusiasm and entertainment. My college has a huge library and it is pretty stocked up with books, magazines and journals. Apart from academics, you'll find of the best collection of novels from all genres. Classrooms are well equipped, laboratories are also fully furnished and functional. Regarding sports, the college provided a wide range of sports amenities like a basketball court, volleyball, tennis, short put etc. the sports complex has various of other facilities too. Extracurricular activities consist of a variety of clubs and societies some of the famous societies are Musical (both classical and modern), Dance, Marketing, enacts, Fine arts, dramatic etc all these clubs and societies are managed by students and student councils.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Economics was my subject of interest that's the reason I choose economics hons as my course. I am well versed in maths and numerals hence it was a plus point for me. If I talk about the student-faculty ratio it is 1 faculty for 70-75 students. faculties try to put their best foot forward in terms of academics. There are tutorial classes also in case of doubt solving. Qualification of faculty is meritorious, faculties are on their best behaviour when with students, they try to curtail all the problems of students, very understanding and helpful. After every 6 months, you'll have your term exams. for Economics Hons exams are a bit tough as the curriculum follows more practical ways of teaching. You'll have to focus more and study hard for term exams. The passing ratio is favourable.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I was from PCM (science) background in 12th board and I literally wanted to shift in the course of the art. And science students always look for what best subject in art which is ECONOMICS and we choose this. And the second reason is Economics is something challenging and It provides you to think bigger and know about the money and market. So these are the reason I selected this course. My class has 40 students and except for the Micro teacher, No one teaches very well. We are the first batch of CUET and we just got approx. 3 months to prepare for the semester with an increase in the subject. So that is always hard when you are getting experimented with new things.

Campus Life:

The two annual fests happen in our college i.e., Phoenix and Kafila. Currently, I think there is no tech fest organized in our college. Yes, our library is one of the best and you get a very vast collection of books and journals. Yes, the condition of the classroom is not that much good. It's okay. Yes, there are good sports facilities and a good environment for extracurricular activities in our college. The college runs many societies and groups like NSS (Social group), ADHAR (Cultural group)., CHAYANKAN ( photography society), Enactus, SFS, SFD, etc.

The Teachers Have an Easy Teaching Method And can be Understood by Both Hindi and English Medium Students Simultaneously. Term Exams Always Gets Delayed No matter what. But The Exam Pattern is very easy for our end-semester examinations. And is somewhat easy to pass.

The college has an endless number of clubs/societies like Enactus ARSD, Hindi club, Commerce club, finance & investment cell, economics society, English club, students for seva & many many more.

Placement Experience:

Students from 2nd year or 5th semester are eligible for pre-placement offers. However, 1st-year students are eligible for internship opportunities only. Around 40 companies visited campus with their placement offers for Bcom. Hons, Bcom, B.A Hons Economics, & some BSc courses. Companies included some Big4 companies like KPMG, Deloitte, E&Y, Wipro, HCL & many more. My plan after getting the degree is to go for MBA or MA in Economics.

Campus Life:

Our college fest was just held recently and conducted in winter mostly but it was boring for the people who were not part of any event or program. But our college does provide different activities and sports and games on campus. The campus life is very colorful and cheering and the campus is ragging free as far as visible. Our college provides a basketball court, badminton hall, football ground and even a shooting range which is paid for. The campus is best known for its cricket coaching and it is best if you want to have a career in cricket. Big cricket stars like Sachin Tendulkar's son come to play cricket at our college sometimes. Many big Olympic stars like Neeraj Chopra or big cricket star Kapil Dev were pass-outs from DAV college Chandigarh. Classrooms are spacious and comfortable and a good studying environment is offered. Different clubs like Raah the Library Club, PSA Political Club and Reading Club, etc. are made to connect with every student with different interests.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is efficient and helpful to make the interested students get proper knowledge about the subject. I chose this course just because I like economics very much. Now, the faculty members are well-read and written in their particular subject fields. But most of the time classes are not held on time or the teachers delay coming to classes. Also sometimes teachers remain absent from classes without even giving any message. But as long as we talk about the education and qualifications of the teachers, they are good and the teaching method is also efficient and healthy. Now, exams, which the students fear about but they are comparatively easy and difficult at the same time. But if you have even a little knowledge of the syllabus you can pass the exam with ease. Semester Exams are taken every 6 months and other short tests are held monthly and sometimes once in 3 weeks.

Ques. Which course is better: B. Commerce Hons or BA Economics Hons from DU?

● Top Answer By Divjot Bagga on 06 Oct 22

Ans. The answer to this question will rely on your future goals, what you compassionately dream of doing, and what you believe you will truly like. However, Economics Honors from DU is one of the best courses with exceptional scope and value in the corporate world. Everyone is aware that the University of Delhi's most prestigious course is Economics Hons. Rapidly rising cutoffs provide proof of this.  Additionally, compared to other courses, it offers higher placement prospects. Nevertheless, immense power entails great responsibility. It's not the kind of subject you can get by with just one night of studying. It necessitates commitment and diligence. Additionally, it is the most challenging course the university offers. So, BA Economics is the best option for anyone who is keenly interested in the subject.  BA Economics(Hons) is DU's most difficult yet prestigious course. As a result, if you are in the unreserved category, you will need a higher percentage. Try to get a score of 90% or higher to get into DU, and 95% or higher to get into DU's good colleges. In the end, it all comes down to your score.Read more

Ques. Is it worth doing a BA in economics honors from an average college of DU?

● Top Answer By Pragya Agrawal on 10 Oct 22

Ans. Many people believe that college isn't necessary for success in life. No, it does not. But those people are simply not telling the whole story. The amount of struggle you will face without a college degree is 20 times greater than what you will face with a good college degree. Working hard today will make your life easier tomorrow. Any average college isn't worth it unless you're in dire financial need or your family's mental state is unbearable. The hype surrounding DU is unreal. All of those 52 lakh eco packages are overpriced. 5 people out of lakhs may get it; the rest must compete for a 5 lakh job. You should never accept anything less than what you deserve. You can apply for Jamia to enter. You may apply for abroad studies. You can get a fellowship and take a year off. Do whatever it takes to stand out from the crowd and make a better career for yourself.Read more

Ques. Which is better for a B.A. hons in economics Ramjas College or Kirori Mal College?

● Top Answer By Aditya Shukla on 18 Oct 21

Ans. Most DU institutions are on a similar footing. But Ramjas is regarded to be superior in most areas. Apart from similar academics to KMC, Ramjas College has one of the best cultural events. Its focus is on the holistic development of students. With time, the value of these colleges is diminishing as cut-offs are getting competitive, and the quality of students is spreading more evenly. However, Ramjas is the best if you want to challenge yourself.Read more

In your 1st year if you score a 60% in all the subjects, then only you are offered an Honours degree in the 2nd year. Economics, unlike other subjects, is very much in demand, so you can expect a lot of competition. The faculty members of this department are also well experienced. You will get to familiarize yourself with the course structure. Ques. Which is better, ISBF Delhi or NMIMS Mumbai for economics honours?

● Top Answer By Ritesh Kumar on 23 Feb 23

Ans. Both the colleges ISBF Delhi and NMIMS Mumbai offer a decent Economic Honors program. I have drawn a detailed comparison between the two on the basis of the following parameters  Worth of the Degree: NMIMS might be a reputed college but its degree cannot be compared to that of ISBF which offers a University of London degree in addition to academic assistance from London School of Economics and Political Science, the top-ranked institute in Economics. Curriculum: Economics is vast and covers a very broad spectrum of subjects from development and finance to international trade. Now the University of London excellently allows the students to choose 6 electives of their choice in addition to 6 compulsory subjects. This ensures that the students get a job in the sector they are passionate about. This flexibility of curriculum lacks on the part of NMIMS. Prospects: A DU student applying to top institutions in the UK for a master, is required to complete a diploma year before starting with his master's. This aims to compensate for the difference in the standard of education. However, anyone with a University of London degree can directly apply for a Master in top universities in the UK. Batch size: The batch size at ISBF is relatively smaller than that of NMIMS. This aids in better student-teacher interaction and class discussions. This in turn helps in better delivery of the curriculum. So in almost all aspects, ISBF is a better choice than NMIMS.Read more

Ques. How is the BA economics course at St. Xavier's University, Kolkata? What is the cutt-off for candidates who took commerce stream in 12? Is Mathematics subject compulsory for admissions?

● Top Answer By Rishabh Chandel on 09 Jun 21

Ans. If you are considering pursuing a degree in Economics, it is recommended that you do not prioritize Xavier's Kolkata. You'd be better off starting at one of the top ten colleges in Delhi or one of the top five in Mumbai. Kolkata lacks the atmosphere and opportunities that economics graduates require both during and after graduation. In contrast, Delhi has a great environment (coaching and guidance for higher studies in eco) and opportunities (training and internships) for eco graduates. The Finance Industry in Mumbai will be very helpful (and much needed) in obtaining internships, part-time jobs, or any other type of practical training. Calcutta is devoid of all of these. Also, Mathematics is mandatory in order to be admitted to B.A. (Eco) at St. Xavier's Kolkata. If you are not applying through any quotas (such as Christian, SC/ST, or from schools affiliated with Xavier's), you will need at least 96 percent in class 12th. Despite the fact that it appears in subsequent lists, it goes down by 1%–2%.Read more

Ques. How good is Loyola College Chennai for economics?

● Top Answer By Rudrani Sengupta on 04 Oct 21

Ans. The answer to this question depends on what you want to do. I have a few friends from Loyola College, Chennai, and here is what they have to say about the institute. Loyola has really good professors and a vast library with huge collections of books. It also has a digital library and conducts national-level symposiums. The placement office is amazing and a lot of different companies from diversified fields come to the campus. In the last placement drive, the highest CTC offered was 5 LPA.  Loyola has a policy of 80% attendance. It also has a compulsory club of 60 hours during the first year and there are a lot of options to choose from – NCC, NSS, FOP, Loyola dream team, AICUF, Rotaract, Radio, LPA, Debate Club, etc. Even after all of this, certain students have arrear and do not like to study. They just want to enjoy themselves and do not enroll in any club, do not use the library at all.  Overall, the college is good but it is up to you to make the most of your time there.Read more
