Padma Ram Rahar's Review On IIT Kanpur - Indian Institute Of Technology - [IITK], Kanpur | collegedunia.com

IIT Kanpur Is Best IIT

Remarks :

To taking admission to IITs we have to pass JEE Advanced exam which is conducted by different IITs every year. For JEE advanced we have to clear JEE Mains exam and selected candidates can take jee advanced. When I took admitted to IITK, the Advanced cutoff was 92/372 for OBC and Mains cutoff was 85 percentile for OBC. In IITs, the fee is decided by the family's annual income. If the family income is less than 1 lac then there are zero tuition fees.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is very nice at IITK. I was a huge interested in Mechanical devices and manufacturing so I took Mechanical engineering. The faculty-student ratio is about 1:15. Faculty in IITK is highly qualified. There are many teachers who took their degrees in abroad. the teaching method is very good. There are 4 exams in a year, 2 mid-semester exams and 2 end-semester exams.

Internships Opportunities :

About 50% of students get internships. In software, Samsung, Oracle, Quant Box, and Goldman Sachs are the main recruiters and In core, Bajaj, TATA, Reliance, etc are the main recruiters. Students can take projects under professors.

Placement Experience :

There is an official placement office to run a placement drive every year. In BTECH 7th-semester students can apply for placement. Flipkart, Amazon, Reliance, Goldman Sachs, Quant box, etc are the main recruiting companies. The highest package was 4.3 cr and the average was 12 lac. 80% of students got placed. I want to work for core companies after getting the degree

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees structure is very good. The fee is decided by family income. If a student's parent's income is less than 1 lac then there is zero tuition fee for that and if the family income is between 1 to 3 lac then he has to only pay 33% of the total fee and if income is greater than 3 lac then he has to pay full fees. There are many scholarships that can give fee waivers to students. like MCM, FBM, DONAR, etc.

Campus Life :

Life at the campus is very chill. There are many annual festivals UDGHOSH is a sports festival ANTRAGANI is a cultural and TECKRITI is a tech fest. There is a huge collection of books and journals in the library and they are easily available to all. Extracurricular activities like sports, music, and dance are also available, and clubs are available for them. Rakttarpan is a blood donation social group that is run by students.

Hostel Facilities :

The hotels are very nice. Gym and sports facilities are available in every hostel. Free wifi available in hostel rooms. Coolers, beds, study tables, and chairs are available in rooms. rooms are very comfortable. Easy process of registration. only have to go to the hostel office and fill in the admission form and all is set. Mess food of the hostel is very tasty and the menu changes every month. If anybody does not like messy food then he can eat at the hostel canteen.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for placements from the sixth semester itself. Companies start visiting the college in the mid of the sixth semester. If you are from a computer background then be assured of 100% placement. Other courses available are MBA, BCA MTECH integrated etc. Mostly every student gets placed to maintain the reputation of the college. It has an average package of 500000 per year. After getting the degree I'll be working in the software field

The placement at my colleagues is good. We are eligible for placements from the 7th semester. The companies that visited my college are Infosys, HCL, Dot square and many more. I don't have any information about that offers. The highest package of my college is 25 lpa and the average package of my college is 3 lpa. 70-80% of students get the placements. My plan after getting the degree is to start my own startup.
