Remarks :
Any candidate having a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 50% marks (Gen) is eligible for admission at IIM Bangalore. Candidates must appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) to get an admission call. The calls are rolled out based on different criteria like CAT Score, 10th marks, 12th marks, UG marks, Work Ex, etc. The weightage given to each criterion changes every year. Post receiving a call, candidates need to appear for the Written Ability Test and PI Process. The WAT checks your analytical writing skills, and the PI judges your caliber. Again based on different criteria, including WAT and PI, candidates are offered admission to the course. The reservation benefits can be availed similarly to any other government institution.
Course Curriculum Overview :
IIM Bangalore is one of the best MBA colleges in the country. It has a rigorous curriculum that covers every aspect of management. The program is spread over six terms, with core courses taught for three terms. Two electives are also offered in the third term. The faculties are excellent, highly qualified, and well-regarded. Exchange opportunities are offered in the fifth term, giving students a chance to study and learn business practices in other countries. Overall it is well-designed and one of the best MBA courses in the country.
Internships Opportunities :
More than 150 companies visited us this year for summer placements. Consulting saw the highest number of offers made with top recruiting firms such as McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Accenture, etc. The average stipend was around 150-200K per month. There are also a lot of live project opportunities available.
Placement Experience :
The summer internship for PGP1s happens in the second term, and the final placements for PGP2 happen in the sixth term. Students with work-ex have their lateral placements in the 5th and 6th terms. The placement is marvelous. Last year the average placement was 33.8 LPA for finals. More than 150 companies, including all the top names, visit our campus. More than 550 offers are made. Everyone gets placed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The total fee for six terms is 26.5 Lakhs. Students with an annual income lower than eight lakhs can apply for financial aid up to 100% after admission. There are a lot of scholarship opportunities available, which can be checked on IIM Bangalore's website.
Campus Life :
The campus life is really good. There's a library that is open all day, plus you also get access to the digital library; you'll never be short of any book/research paper. The classrooms are well-designed and equipped with modern teaching technologies like projectors, sound systems, etc. You'll get individual rooms in the hostel; there's a ration shop and three food outlets, including one Amul outlet. There are a lot of clubs and societies that give you enough exposure. Also, there are three major fests names unmade, vista, and eximius.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel facility is really good. You'll get single-furnished rooms. The hostel is compulsory for PGP1 students and you get in during the time of registration. Facilities like washing machines, geysers, daily cleaning, etc., are available. You don't need to rent a PG.
Interview Experience :
There was no group discussion; however, there was a written ability test and personal Interview. My WAT topic was related to Covid-19. The interview was based on finance and economics questions, along with a discussion on technologies such as metaverse. I did self-preparation, mostly through YouTube and newspapers.
