Remarks :
Admission to IIM Bangalore is through Common Aptitude Test (CAT) which is held annually. The application process, information related to the timeline and fees are available online at iimcat.ac.in. Reservation benefits are provided as guided by the MoHRD, Government of India.
Course Curriculum Overview :
MBA at IIM Bangalore is one of the best in India/Asia as per the recent B-school rankings and also fares really well globally. There is an excellent faculty-student ratio as the batches are divided into sections of around 70 students who are then taught by individual faculty. All the professors are highly qualified with the minimum criteria being a PhD in relevant field and teaching methods are highly interactive with a focus on case-based teaching.
Internships Opportunities :
There are more than 100 companies across domains coming for the summer placements process, and 100% of students are offered internships with hefty stipends averaging around 1.5 lacs per month. Many of these students are also offered Pre-Placement Offers yearly due to their exemplary performance in their respective internship projects.
Placement Experience :
IIM Bangalore arguably provides the best placements in India, with an average CTC of 33.82 lakhs per annum. The track record has been consistent with 100% placements every year during finals as well as summer internship placements.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees are fairly consistent over the years, with slight increments every 3-5 years. All major costs, along with living expenses are covered by the tuition and hostel fees. Also, it is quite easy to get loans from reputed banks without any collateral given the high reputation of the college and its alumni. There are quite a few scholarships provided for those in need as well.
Campus Life :
There are various fests at IIM Bangalore - Two major business fests Eximius and Vista are one of the largest in Asia and Unmaad is the cultural fest which is also one of the largest in South India. The architecture of the college is world-famous and has drawn many accolades. There are all sorts of sports facilities available and 20+ student clubs.
Hostel Facilities :
All basic facilities are provided in the hostel rooms, and they are single sharing to respect the privacy of each student. There is no segregation among students as these hostels are co-ed. After the first year, students are also allowed to take their own accommodation outside college if they feel so. The hostel mess has a huge variety of food items which keep getting revised every week.
Interview Experience :
Group Discussions have not taken place since the process was modified after the Covid-19 outbreak. IIM Bangalore follows a WAT-PI process where the students are first asked to submit a Statement of Purpose with their primary details, followed by a Written Ability Test on an impromptu topic and then a face-to-face interview with a panel of professors.
