PEC Chandigarh is a great option for pursuing Electrical Engineering. It is one of the oldest and most reputed technical colleges in the country. You will get good exposure and placement opportunities.

During the recent PEC Chandigarh placement, students of Electrical Engineering received an average CTC of around INR 8 LPA. The highest CTC offered for the branch was INR 18 LPA. JP Morgan, Honda, Maruti, etc. visited the campus placements to recruit students.

One of my friends studied at Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, in electrical engineering. PEC Chandigarh ranks 68 among top engineering colleges in NIRF 2020 Ranking. It is also ranked above some of the NITs like NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Goa, NIT Patna. You can expect it to be good.

In the below table you will get the basic information about the Electrical Engineering course of Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh.

Category

Electrical Engineering at PEC

Fees

Recruiters

Fiat India, Arcesium, Amazon, SanDisk, Tata Motors, Samsung, Microsoft, Honda, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs

Highest CTC

INR 17.5 LPA

Average CTC

INR 10.2 LPA

  • If you compare Electrical Engineering with other branches of PEC, except Computer Science, then it appears good. So, if you are thinking of joining it, then go ahead with it.
  • The alumni are well-established and placements are even improving.
  • Various PSUs and MNCs have visited the campus for recruitment.

It is recommended that you choose a college which will be nearby you. This will help you in your career ahead, as it will become the college’s responsibility to provide you with appropriate industrial training. Always check they offer proper facilities required by an engineering student. Because later, during placements your skills will matter the most, and training yourself with proper facilities is a must.
