IIM Rohtak is a green campus that prioritises environmental safety, and students are not permitted to use vehicles on campus.

During COVID times, IIM Indore restricted the ability of IPM students to commute or even bring vehicles to the campus. Cycles may be permitted depending on the college, but they are currently uncommon at IIM Rohtak.

My sister is a former student of IIM Rohtak. During her time, all students were allowed to have their own vehicles as they had permission.

But there have been a couple of unfortunate incidents that took place after that. Due to which the institute issued a circular stating that students cannot park their vehicles within the college premises. Some of these incidents included:

  • One of her closest friends had an accident when he was driving down the slope and fractured his right shoulder.
  • Another one was a horrific accident of a PGP student, the details of which were not disclosed to avoid panic, but it was due to the mistake of the driver.

Since these accidents took place, the campus has become very cautious and strict. Speed breakers and proper indicators have been installed to ensure no such accidents take place in the future.

Following this, a circular was noticed which prohibited any student to have a vehicle parked on campus. You can have your relatives or friends come into campus with their vehicles, provided it's only for visiting.
