IIM Rohtak campus is far from the main city of Rohtak and is situated on a highway. So accommodation has to be provided to the students. It’s a 200-acre campus and has ample space for hostels in its existing campus. The offer letter which the IIM Rohtak authorities sent to the selected students clearly stated that they had to pay an amount of INR 4.10 lakhs for the first year of the 5 years Integrated Program in Management (IPM) at the institute which covers the tuition fee, room rent, and other relevant fees though not including security deposits, study materials, alumni membership fee, and some other fees. Clearly you will be getting hostels for the IPM courses as well. Do not believe in rumors stating otherwise....Read more
Ques. Does IIM Rohtak have hostels for the first batch of IPM?
For the first year, IIM Rohtak provides dual sharing rooms with air conditioners. No extra charges are required for it as it is included in the fee structure. As the campus of IIM Rohtak is located a bit far away from the city, the college will be providing hostel facilities to the IPM students. Also, they are charging 4,10,000 fees which includes hostel charges, so there are chances of getting hostels. The college campus is huge and there is ample space for building hostels as well. As far as the new hostel is concerned, it has been developed and is very huge. There are 4 people sharing rooms. There are two rooms connected with a single door. There are attached bathrooms as well. The new hostels are much better than the older hostels on the campus and have all kinds of facilities....Read more
Ques. Is it compulsory to stay in the hostel at IIM Rohtak for all 5 years while doing IPM there? Also, do they have a rigid academic session where 90 attendance is compulsory?
Yes, IPM and the majority of other programs are offered entirely in residence on all IIM campuses. For the purpose of clarification, the attendance policy is actually 100% mandatory (at least on paper). You must now obtain permission to miss classes and leave campus. Medical emergencies, urgent family functions, and so on are examples of exceptions. Other rules that affect the daily lives of students are: Night curfews: First-year students are not permitted to leave their hostels after 10:30 p.m. Things become more relaxed as you advance in maturity level. Lights out time: During the first month, this is usually strictly enforced until you get acclimatized. The light-out time was mostly kept on paper then. Yoga: Yoga classes are required five days a week. Restriction: You can leave campus without permission only on Sundays; otherwise, a gate pass is required. Again, as you become senior, this becomes less strict. Discipline: Yes, there have been terminations based on disciplinary issues such as drinking, PDAs, and so on.
