CUSAT and TKM both take students based on CET. Students always land in confusion between these two. CUSAT also admits students based on the KEAM score. Being a student of CUSAT, I can say it is better than TKM in several ways.

  • Global Recognition - CUSAT has a better global recognition than TKM. CUSAT has been awarded by many countries for its excellent performance in the fields of education.
  • Culture - CUSAT is more linked and connected with growing industries therefore it offers its students better startup programs and cultures. It also has a wide community to help the students with the real-world industry.
  • Facilities: - High tech facilities are offered by CUSAT. Well-equipped and high-tech labs with the latest technological advancements are present there.
  • Placements - It definitely offers better placement than TKM. Its placement records and stats are better than TKM for every academic year.

Highest CTC 15 LPA 12 LPA
Average CTC 7 LPA 3.5-5 LPA

B.Tech Instrumentation Engineering, Cochin University Of Science and Technology (2018)

My brother is an alumnus of CUSAT and according to him, the best branch to opt for at the institute is Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding. It is the flagship course offered by the university. To get admission into this branch you will need a rank less than 500 in the CUSAT CAT or a relaxed rank depending on the category of reservation you have.

Here is the required cutoff for Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding according to 2020 trends.

B.Tech in Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding
Round Cutoff by Rank
1 58
2 65
3 65

Hope this clears your doubts.

Which is better at CUSAT, IT or EC?

SR
Sikha Rajput Posted On : July 20th, 2021
Studied Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communications Engineering at Cochin University Of Science

Both the options are good. There is no such difference in the quality of education, either in these two branches, or any other branch in CUSAT.

They make you work hard, focus on every detail, and stress a lot on the practical classes and labs.

As for the faculty, 85% are permanent. As for the quality of faculty, everyone will have a different view. According to my friends at CUSAT, the only difference you will find between the branches is that the EC people toil 3 times harder than the other branches.

According to the overall placement statistics the average and highest CTC offered to the students is 4 LPA and 15 LPA.

You should choose the branch that is better for you. Think about the branch where your interest lies, will you be able to manage the workload efficiently, does the subject interest you, or which branch has the better placements matter. However, I would like to advise you not to be bothered by placements any more.

BVP Pune would be a better choice as Pune is a technical city and plays an important factor in the placements. The city has all the MNCs and is the top place for a student for great placements.

Also, Bharti Vidyapeeth Pune is among the best private Universities in the city because of the well-educated and experienced faculty and also the placement packages it furnish. Therefore, you should go for BVP Pune as it will be a better choice.
