How is executive PGDM from Alliance University Bangalore in bussiness analytics specialisation?

SS
Shivam Shrivastava Posted On : January 29th, 2021
MBA from IIM K (2019)

The answer would be a big No. One of my seniors pursued a regular MBA from Alliance University after securing 95% in his CAT examination and 99% in MAT examination back in 2010. Back then the university used to offer good exposure opportunities, a great faculty team, great infrastructure, and amazing facilities.

Some of the important features of the Executive PGDM program offered by Alliance University are given below.

Fee Structure

INR 2.45 LPA

Average CTC

INR 7.6 LPA

Highest CTC

INR 22.6 LPA

Recent Scenario: In recent times, the name of the university has been tarnished. Due to the family conflicts and sibling fights. Those siblings had even published each other’s names as a warning in the form of public notice on the national channels. The sibling who got the reigns of this university is more of a self-centered autocrat according to the alumni.

You should look for better options rather than wasting money here. Go for IIM Bangalore instead if you get a chance for admission.

How is international business at Alliance University?

HK

MBA from Alliance University (2016)

As of now, it would not be advisable for you to join Alliance University as an academic option. The college is in serious trouble and fails to complete the academic requirements of the candidates. Consequently, the education and future of thousands of students enrolled in this university have been left in the hanging position because of a family feud.

About - Alliance University:

  • The future of the university in the upcoming years is really unsettled. On the other hand, the candidates have got multiple options to choose from other than Alliance University. So, It would really be advised not to consider Alliance University as an option to study.
  • Secondly, an MBA major in International Business is offered at Alliance University. But specialization in International Business rarely attracts quite a large number of students in any of the business schools, this also holds true for Alliance University.

The table below shows the placement statistics of the institute.

Average CTC

7 LPA

International Business, No of Placements

4

According to student reviews, Alliance University is not the right choice to pursue studies now. Former students of the university also assure that you would not be able to pursue IB as a specialization at this university.

Studied B.Tech Computer Programming & Android Application Development, Alliance University

There are a number of mixed reviews that you will get regarding Alliance university. As per my cousin’s experience, it is a good place but reasons for safety and crowd are a major concern. You must double-check before you definitely decide to go there.

Academics and Infrastructure

  • The faculty is also quite helpful and will encourage you to do better.
  • The campus is quite big with excellent infrastructure.
  • The food is also acceptable and you will get your meals on time.
  • Everyone also appreciates the libraries and labs a lot.
  • The hostel rooms are quite clean and my cousin was satisfied with the campus.

Extracurricular activities

  • The college also has its own Adventure sports club and Cultural club.
  • You will also have the option of opting for International collaborations where you will meet other students with different cultures, work styles, and mindsets.
  • A number of international faculty also visit the institute to teach students.

Disadvantages

  • The college culture is not that great. There have been instances of students bragging about their wealth and mocking the less privileged ones.
  • A friend of mine witnessed a lot of discrimination as well. You might witness bullying to the point that someone could be beaten up.
  • The upper management is very difficult to work with and not polite.
  • There have also been cases of sexual assault and rape.
  • The area surrounding the campus and the locals aren’t that great either.

If you are planning to go there, be particular about the course curriculum and placement records. Alliance School of Business excels in both. This college is not recommended for purposes other than studying.

Is the executive PGDM course from Alliance University recognized by WES Canada? Is it considered equivalent to a master’s degree?

RB
Rupohi Bhumik Posted On : March 1st, 2021
Alliance University (2019)

Someone I know recently got his PGDM degree evaluated by WES. To answer your question, the one-year PGDM diploma is not considered a master’s. My friend completed his Executive PGDM with Business Analytics as a specialization. Canada’s equivalent report for his degree is as follows. You can find the specification here and proceed accordingly.

  • Credential Authentication: Documents will be sent directly by the institute.
  • Country: India
  • Credential: Postgraduate Diploma (Executive)
  • Major: Management
  • Awarded by: Alliance University
  • Status: Recognized University
  • Canadian Equivanalancy: Postgraduate Diploma (one year)

You can get your postgraduate degree evaluated by WES or IAQS. Hope this was helpful.

M.B.A MarketingAlliance University (2019)

Alliance University is a reputed university in Bangalore and is considered as among the top-ranked MBA universities in India. The university has two schools and two colleges that offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral level programs in engineering, law, business, commerce, and design.

The fee structure is a bit costly as compared to the other universities but it is definitely worth it. International programs are among the most exciting and career-enhancing opportunities available at Alliance University where students receive good career opportunities for a brighter future.

When it comes to its infrastructure, it is pretty much good as all the buildings are well-structured and well- maintained. It includes the Administration box, Library, Food Court, Campus store, and other departments. It has a huge library along with the facility of all the important labs for the students. There are various other facilities like the gym and free parking in the college. The food provided by the mess is also good and there are excellent hostel facilities for the students provided by the college. The area campus is spread over 45 acres and has a lot of vegetation with fresh air all around.

Alliance University has its own placement cell and has a link with major MNCs. It also has international collaborations and it prepares the students to excel globally. The following are some impressive facts about their placement structure:

1. About 70-80% of the students are placed every year.
2. The salary ranges from 50,000 to 80,000 p.m.
3. Well-known companies like Deloitte, IBM, Infosys, and Google visit the college who are among the top recruiting companies.
4. The top roles offered are: Internships, Managers, HR, Marketing, Accounting professionals etc.
5. Around 80% of the students were offered their internships in companies like Infosys and IBM.

So in my view, if you have a good budget and want to pursue your further studies from a good college then I think Alliance University can boost your career growth.

How is Alliance University in respect of placement and what is the average placement here? I have an interview for Alliance University.

A
Admin Posted On : May 2nd, 2022

You’re not specific for which program you’re asking from the placements in the alliance. But I’ll provide you with a few insights that Alliance University is the best in business school as far as I know. Because my sister has studied there and her experience was outstanding. The best thing is that they focus on their students so much and the faculties are concerned and encouraging there.

Placements are insanely crazy in alliance, the official site for the school reports says that the highest package will be 21.6 lakh per annum and the average package is 7.6 lakh per annum which is way too good. In 2022, there were 100% placements of MBA students at Alliance University with the top companies of all time, are CISCO, Amazon, Bicon, American Express, PWC, Wipro, Tata, Allegis Group, Oracle, Accenture, ANZ, Capgemini, Cognizant, Deloitte and many more.

Alliance University provides best faculty with the best infrastructure for their students so personality development should happen through interactive classroom sessions, company visits, field visits, group discussions, etc. Alliance mainly emphasizes the overall growth of a student rather than growth in their particular field only.

Alliance offers 5 specializations in the MBA program, named:

  • Marketing
  • Finance
  • HRM
  • OM
  • International Business

Apart from studies, Alliance provides many co-curricular activities like they have clubs and committees in which students can participate and enhance their networking. It also conducts many conferences national/international, which can be very useful for a student to get to know many people.

M.B.A Marketing, Alliance University (2017)

The Cutoff for NMAT to get into Alliance University is 120. NMAT cut off is the base score got by candidates for the choice round. The cutoff levels are resolved separately by the NMAT in the participating organizations. In the case you were not able to score 120 you will always have an option of giving an attempt for AMAT (Alliance MAT) conducted by the college itself. You can then proceed further for the Admission selection process., where your assessment will not only be based on the score that you achieved in AMAT but the overall performance of the student from high school to your personal interview.

The college offers courses in UG, PG, and Ph.D. courses like BBA, B.Tech, M.Tech where admission is based on different exams.

  • For B.tech admission is based on the marks scored inJEE Main,JEE Advanced,KCET,COMEDK UGET, orAUEET.

  • For BBA, admission is done via AUMAT.

  • For M.Tech the admission procedure is through the marks scored inAUEET,GATEorPGCET

  • Admission to the Ph.D. program is assisted via the Alliance Research Aptitude Test (ARAT) which is succeeded with a personal interview conducted by the college admin.

What does the selection process of alliance university comprise of?

RD
Radharani Das Posted On : March 1st, 2021
Alliance University (2019)

One of my cousins attended Alliance University. He submitted his CAT (92) and MAT (99) and got a callback. After MAT and NMAT scores have been obtained. You must first make the registration process that costs around a thousand rupees and you can do the registration process through online mode or offline mode.

On reaching the venue, you will have to write a test post. Students usually pick the topic of the extempore from a chit-box. After the extempore, there will be an interview for selection. The interview panel comprises two faculty members.

The selection process contains the following steps.

  • Aptitude Test
  • Oral extempore
  • Group Discussion
  • Personal Interview

Alliance University used to have a good reputation in the past. In recent years, it has the institute lost its credibility due to sibling fights and other issues.
