Admissions require students to have 45% and 60% marks in 10+2 and graduation respectively with UPSEE, CAT, or GATE scores.

Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur currently has a student strength of 854 across all of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati is an autonomous Institute offering several specializations under undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs.

Course:

• IIT Jodhpur offers BTech in mechanical engineering. The students who have passed their standard 12th board examination with at least 75% marks in Science stream or equivalent are eligible.

• IIT Tirupati offers BTech in mechanical engineering. Applicants must have 75% total aggregate in class 12th in PCM and English or Hindi or any other subject.

IIT Jodhpur-

• The admissions in BTech is done by JEE mains and JEE advanced scores.

• The cutoff is 5559-6725 for males and 12418-14198 for females in the Mechanical department. Seats are allocated by JoSAA.

IIT Tirupati-

• The admissions in BTech is done by JEE mains and JEE advanced scores.

• The cutoff for IIT Tirupati ranges 4873-7512 for males and 12387-13492 for females in the Mechanical department.

IIT Jodhpur-

• 83% of the students from mechanical engineering were placed.

• Top recruiters were ISRO, Bharat petroleum, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft Capgemini, Intel, etc.

IIT Tirupati-

• 77% of the total eligible students were placed from the Mechanical branch.

• The students from mechanical engineering have an average package of 7.7 LPA.

• The top recruiters were TCS, Bosch, Versa network, ZS associates, etc.

In terms of grand total fees, Both IIT Jodhpur and IIT Tirupati are the same. With respect to the placement opportunities, IIT Jodhpur has a better exposure than IIT Tirupati. Both the institutes are well renowned for mechanical engineering.

Clearly, VIT Pune is better than VIIT Pune. Although both VIT and VIIT are autonomous under the same trust i.e. Bansilal Ramnath Agarwal Charitable Trust, VIT has been operating as an autonomous body for a long time as compared to VIIT. Being in this field for a long period grants them immense experience.

• In 2019 the closing cutoff for CS in round 3 of counseling was 1100 at VIT Pune. For VIIT Pune it was 2648 for the same.

The placement opportunities are ahead in VIT Pune when compared to VIIT Pune.

• For the 2020 batch, the highest package offered was 27 LPA and the average package stood at 6.68 LPA in VIT Pune.

• More than 120 companies visited VIT Pune for recruitment.

VIT has experience in introducing changes to the curriculum, examination patterns, placements, etc and they execute the changes smoothly. You may feel the changes introduced are sudden and difficult to follow at VIIT. All these factors make VIT Pune a better option than VIIT Pune despite both being autonomous and being managed by the same trust.

BMS College of Engineering(BMSCE) and People Education Society University(PES) in Bengaluru, offers UG, PG, and Doctoral programs in the streams of Engineering, Management, Architecture, and many more. According to NIRF Engineering ranking 2020, BMSCE stands at 69th position whereas PES stands at 93rd position. In the recent placement, a total of 948 offers were made to the students of BMSCE and 851 job offers at PSE university.

Admission:

BMS College of Engineering

• The admission process for BMSCE commences in the month of February, and for BTech students need to apply online for COMEDK. The application fee is INR 1600.
• The total seat intake is 1380.
• Admission for MTech and MArch at BMSCE commences in the month of January. Students need to apply online for the PGCET entrance exam.

PES University

• Admission to all the BTech courses at PES is done through PESSAT/CET examination.
• The total seat intake is 1320.
• Other exams like CAT, GRE, GMAT, CMAT are also considered at PES University. The application fee is INR 1050.

Faculty:

• PES University: A good number of faculty are present at PES including professors, assistant professors, Head of the department, and a lot more. All of them are highly experienced and some have graduated from IITs, NITs.
• BMS College of Engineering: A total of 29 research faculties are present at BMSCE, which includes professors, assistant professors, Head of Department, and a lot more.

Course Fees:

• The total BTech course fee at BMSCE is INR 9.16 lakh, on the other hand, INR 13.2 lakh at PES university.
• Students have to pay a total of INR 3.4 lakhs at PES, whereas around INR 60,000 at BMSCE.
• The fee structure of PES is a bit higher than BMSCE.

Placement:

• A total of 948 offers were made for UG students at BMSCE. Total of 1034 students registered for the placement activities. More than 200 companies visited, and the highest package offered was INR 6 LPA.
