If you're considering pursuing management studies at either IMT Hyderabad or BIMTECH, it's important to understand the differences between the two institutes. Here are some key points to keep in mind:
In conclusion, while IMT Hyderabad has the advantage of being a part of the prestigious IMT group, BIMTECH offers students a well-rounded exposure to management studies, a unique campus culture, and a strong alumni base. Ultimately, the choice between the two institutes will depend on your personal preferences and career goals.
Both NIT Jalandhar, as well as the PEC Chandigarh, provides full-time 4-year long UG courses for CSE and ECE. NIT Jalandhar has been ranked 52 by the NIRF rankings this year, while the PEC Chandigarh has been ranked 68 by the NIRF. The PEC Chandigarh is a Deemed University while NIT Jalandhar is a Government Institute.
Admission:-
NIT Jalandhar offers a B.Tech in CSE, while PEC Chandigarh offers a BE course in ECE.
Both the Colleges consider the marks of JEE Mains and the 12th marks by creating the merit list.
The minimum requirement for admission is 60% in-class 12th at PEC Chandigarh, and 75% at NIT Jalandhar.
As both the colleges come under the government funding both of these have similar fee structures and there is no such big difference between them. The total course fee at NIT Jalandhar is 5 Lakhs, whereas the total course fee at PEC Chandigarh is 4.6 lakhs.
The cutoff rank for ECE and CS at these institutes are as follows.
NIT Jalandhar, CSE |
9667 (Round 7) |
PEC Chandigarh, ECE |
14274 (Round 7) |
Placements:-
The NIT Jalandhar has a great alumni network for the CSE department, while PEC is better in terms of placement for ECE due to the core companies visiting the campus every year.
NIT Jalandhar:
According to the 2020 placement statistics the placement rate for the institute is 93%.
The highest CTC and average CTC received by the CSE students are respectively 39.3 LPA and 13.12 LPA. Even two students from the institute got an off-campus placement of almost 65 LPA in Google last year.
Almost 129 Companies visited the campus with Deloitte, Microsoft, Oracle, Adani Group, Kirloskar Oil Engines, Accenture, and Adobe Systems India Pvt Ltd included.
PEC Chandigarh:

PEC Chandigarh is quite famous in North India, while NITs have great recognition all over the world so it can be said in terms of brand value NIT Jalandhar is ahead. Also as far as placements are concerned, the CSE has an edge over the ECE. In every aspect may it be the placements, the overall fee structure, the faculty, the infrastructure, or the overall brand value, choosing CSE at NIT Jalandhar over the ECE in PEC Chandigarh would be more preferable.
Jadavpur University and IIEST Shibpur are both well-known institutes in the country. I have some friends at both institutes. Based on what I heard from them, I will say for CSE, Jadavpur will be a better choice.
Jadavpur is considered as the best institute in all of West Bengal when it comes to engineering especially CSE. Jadavpur is known to be the pioneer of CSE in India along with ISI and therefore had a head start. Jadavpur University has a better record of quality of education and the opportunities it provides to the students.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that IIEST is not a good option. IIEST is also a very reputed institution in our country and a pioneer in some engineering courses and research fields. You can certainly keep IIEST as your second option after JU.
Here is a brief outline of the CSE course offered by the institutions.

Admission to NIT Srinagar is through JEE main. Eligibility is a pass with a minimum of 75% marks in 10+2 exams with maths, physics & chemistry.
Admission to IET Lucknow is through UPSEE. Eligibility is a pass in 10+2 exams with maths, physics & chemistry.

Some of the famous recruiters are Wipro, Infosys, Amazon, Oracle, Capgemini, Oxigen, Pinnacle, HP, etc.
The average annual CTC offered is around INR 9 LPA.
The highest CTC offered was around INR 17 LPA.
The infrastructure and placement rates are very good at either of these colleges. The fees are slightly higher in NIT Srinagar. But the final decision must be taken according to the interest of the student.
IISc offers excellent research opportunities for Chemical Engineering. It is well-known for multidisciplinary research in the field. So, if you aspire to be in a research-oriented career, then IISc will be the right option.
But if you want a job with good pay, after completing the course, then ICT Mumbai is better. Around 70% of students get placed each from the branch, each year. According to the recent highlights of ICT Mumbai, the average CTC offered for Chemical Engineering is around INR 6-7 LPA.
You should look at the campus, the placement records, the faculties and connect with the alumni of these colleges before making an informed decision.
TAPMI has a 100% placement record with an average package of 12.6 LPA, while KJ Somaiya’s average package for 2023 is 12.28 LPA.
All three institutes you mentioned - TAPMI, SIBM-B, and IIM B are highly reputed for their MBA/PGDM programs in Bangalore. TAPMI and IIM-B are legacy institutions as they were established in 1980 and 1973 respectively while SIBM-B was established in 2008.
Seems like you are looking for Bangalore colleges only, so I assume you have some constraints regarding shifting to any other city than Bangalore. But if not then you can try and go for some other B-schools in the country. It depends on if you have got calls from all three, in that case go for IIM-B, as it is among the top two or three B-schools in India.
For further assistance below is a table comparing the three colleges on different aspects;

It is subjective as it all depends on your goals and preferences and also the cutoffs, but if you have got enough cutoffs and got a call from IIM-B then go for it without a doubt.
It is a bitter truth about the IPU that no college offers placements to the students. You will need to depend on yourself for building different skills through short-term courses, internships, or working on different projects.
But in general, MAIT is a reputed college where you can pursue EEE and there is no attendance issue in the college. It also has a good reputation among the IPU colleges. The average CTC offered at the institute is around 3 LPA.
I have few friends at MAIT and based on the reviews I got from them I will suggest you go for their EEE course. But don’t entirely demand the institute for opportunities.
