Which college will be better for civil engineening: NIT Allahabad or NIT Surathkal?
I know people from both NIT Allahabad and NIT Surathkal and based on the reviews I got from them, I will say the former is better. Choose Civil Engineering, only if you are genuinely interested in the branch. If you want placement after the completion of the course, you will have to work hard as there are not many core companies visiting the campus placement drive. However, the placement record for NIT Allahabad is better as compared to NIT Surathkal.
Here are some of the other reasons why you should give preference to NIT Allahabad.
- The academic environment at the campus is great. You will experience healthy competition among peers. Many students prepare for competitive examinations such as GATE, CAT, IES, UPSC, etc. Back in 2017, three students from the Civil engineering branch secured AIR 1, AIR 2, and AIR 3 in GATE.
- At NIT Allahabad, you can change your branch after the first year, if you maintain >7.5 CPI.

If given to choose between TAPMI NMIMS Bangalore and SIBM Bangalore, which one would you go for?
Given to choose, TAPMI is the college I would like to go based on ROI, faculties, Pedagogy, curriculum and placements. TAPMI’s NIRF 2022 rank is also 38th in the country which is above some 3rd gen IIMs. It is also accredited by AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and AMBA.
It is also equipped with state of the art labs like Finance Lab, Analytics lab, Operations Lab and Creativity lab.
It offers Merit based scholarships to 50 students every year. Scholarships are awarded to students by categorizing them into four categories such as Category I, II, III and IV.
Which one is best: a PGDM from Birla Institute of Management Technology, Greater Noida, an MMS in finance from NL Dalmia, or an MBA from PUMBA, Pune?
NL Dalmia has a specific focus on finance, which makes it a good option for candidates looking to specialize in finance. On the other hand, PUMBA offers a more general management education with a focus on practical learning and industry exposure.
BIMTECH, Greater Noida offers a good curriculum with a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. The institute has a strong industry connection and offers a variety of electives to choose from. However, its ranking is lower than NL Dalmia and PUMBA.What will be better for me - Electrical Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra or CSE/IT from IIIT Lucknow or Guwahati?
My sister did her B.Tech from NIT Kurukshetra as it is one of the top-rated NIT and she had a wonderful time there.

If you choose a better college over a branch then you will have an advantage during placements as companies would be aching to visit for hiring new students. You can have a better branch but it won’t matter as you wouldn’t get enough placement opportunities. Students from NIT are placed in some of the top multinational companies.
Which is better for civil engineering, IIEST Shibpur or NIT Patna?
Without a doubt, IIEST Shibpur is the definite better choice among the two institutes for Civil Engineering and is indeed one of the best Civil Engineering departments in the country. My friends who study at IIEST Shibpur boast about their college, that it is great in so many ways.
The points below state some reasons as to why -
- The Civil Engineering department of IIEST Shibpur is the best department among all engineering institutes in India.
- IIEST is a national government-controlled institute, and its curriculum and structure are mostly managed by the central board.

Therefore, Civil Engineering in IIEST Shibpur is at its best among almost all the Civil Engineering departments in India and so is definitely a great choice.
Is RIMS Imphal better than NEIGRIHMS Shillong?
Among RIMS Imphal and NEIGRIHMS Shillong, the latter is a better option. In the northeastern region, it is the first post-graduate medical institute. It is an autonomous institute, which is run by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The faculties at the institute are great. Many guest speakers visit the institute from Delhi. It also has a better patient flow. Although the campus of NEIGRIHMS is smaller as compared to RIMS Imphal, it offers better infrastructure.
Which college is better, NDIM or SIBM Hyderabad?
One of my friends studied at SIBM and according to him, the college is known for its placements. Small batches and teaching standards. They only accept SNAP scores.
Although both NIDM and SIBM Hyderabad are very good management institutions you should choose SIBM Hyderabad because of the following reasons:
- They provide a compulsory 8 weeks of the internship program.
- They have collaborated with Dauphine University, Berlin school of economics, Flensburg University, Hochschule Bremen, LISBON School of Economics & Management. This collaboration gives you immense exposure.
- The infrastructure is good. The whole campus, hostels are wifi enabled with world-class facilities.
- The college is located in the industrial area of Hyderabad and is also an industrial hub.
- The faculty members are also very good. They make more use of case studies, group discussions, simulations, lab tutorials, seminars, and workshops to make students understand, learn and gain practical exposure.
- The curriculum is designed as per the industry’s needs.
- There are various kinds of extracurricular activities in the college.

Will going for I.T. in KJ Somaiya Vidyavihar be a better option than CS in VESIT?
Yes IT and CS are both similar in nature. There is no such difference in the curriculum as well. Both the streams get equal job and placement opportunities. Even the mechanical students learn to code for getting placements.
KJ Somaiya is an autonomous institution and you will get an advantage due to this. The placements at KJ Somaiya are much better than VESIT.

Both the IT stream and CS streams get similar kinds of positions in the market. You should definitely go for IT from KJ Somaiya College.
Which is a good choice, PEC Chandigarh or NIT Meghalaya?
PEC Chandigarh and NIT Meghalaya, neither of them are good colleges as of now due to some major reasons.
NIT Meghalaya:
- NIT Meghalaya is situated in the northeastern part of India and it is a newly built NIT.
- It now comes at the bottom among all the NITs of our country. This is because of the poor and temporary management faculty and it doesn't even have a campus of its own.
- The placements here are currently very poor as this college is newly built. It will take its time to get exposure and recognition which can attract top companies to visit for campus placements.
PEC Chandigarh:
- PEC Chandigarh is not a great college as students scoring lower ranks like 40k or more can also get admission at PEC.
- The placement records are also very poor here. And being at PEC Chandigarh you will also not get the NITian tag which can be very helpful while looking for jobs.
It is suggested to take a year drop and start preparing for JEE Main properly and aim to score higher marks. Appear for the January exam and not the April exam as almost every student targets for it and it can be very difficult to score higher rankings as competition will get very tough. January exam will have less competition and it will be easy to get higher rankings which can indeed open possibilities to get admission in one of the top IITs or NITs.
What should be preferred among IMI Delhi PGDMHR and XIMB MBA- HR?
XIMB-HR and XAHR are both one and the same. The former has been renamed to the latter. XAHR ranks above IMI New Delhi in HR. Not because of the placement prospectus but because of the faculties. Most of the faculties are from have great industry experience.
The course is as per the global standards of SHRM. They provides 100% placement in both finals and summers.
You also get the experience of the outbound learning program organized by TSAF or TATA steel adventure foundation. The new campus is a little outside the main city and the only advantage of IMI New Delhi is its location. XIMB-HR and XAHR are both one and the same.
