How did you prepare for the NIMCET to get into NIT Trichy, and which coaching?

SA
Sarthak Anand Posted On : September 3rd, 2021
Completed MCA from NIT Trichy in 2020

The level of competition in NIMCET is not high when compared to the competitiveness of other exams. The most important section of the exam is Mathematics as it contains 50 questions of 12 marks each. Try to focus on this section as it is rewarding.

One of my friends planned his score chart in the following manner:

Sections Scores
Mathematics 450+
Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning 180+
English 40+
Computer Awareness 50+

A score similar to this would be enough to get a good enough rank in the general category.

To prepare for Mathematics, you can practice Sets, Statistics, Matrices, Binomial theorem, determinants as they can be done in a short time.

  • There will be 2 questions in Definite and Indefinite Integral and 2 questions of Matrices and Determinants.
  • You may even come across 2 questions from Sets.
  • Other important topics are vector, probability, and 3D. In the last few years, about 10 questions from these topics are coming in the exams.
  • You will get probably 3 questions from the 3D section.

If you prepare yourself diligently for 3-4 months, you will be more than capable to crack NIMCET. Books from R.D. Sharma would be enough for preparing for the exams. In case of English, you just need to have basic aptitude knowledge.

AD
Anwita Das Posted On : September 16th, 2021
B.Stat Statistics & Mathematics,Indian Statistical Institute (2018)

Some of my friends took admission to ISI Kolkata for their bachelor's courses. Here are a few of their tips which you can follow while you prepare yourself at home.

  • Lay emphasis on Mathematics concepts like Number Theory, Combinatorics, etc. from a standard book, like Excursion.
  • Try to Solve a set of problems daily from the Test of maths at 10+2 level.
  • Solve a lot of MCQs from JEE books which are easily available both offline and online.
  • Learn calculus at an advanced level from the book - I.A. Maron, etc.
  • Revise and fine-tune whatever you have learned till now. Take routine tests to keep a check on your preparation.

Overall, home preparation is quite simple if you want to score well enough for ISI Kolkata. Follow the important points and practice each and everything as much as you can. Also, you can always take help from your seniors who have gone through similar exams.

What is the level of interview for XIMB? What are the preparation strategies for cracking the interview for XIMB considering less than 1 month time?

RS

MBA in Business Management, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (Graduated 2019)

When preparing for an interview at XIMB, it is important to focus on a few key things to help you perform your best. Firstly, it is important to thoroughly revise your undergraduate subjects as this can make up a significant portion of the interview. Ensure that you have a good grasp of the technical aspects of your course and can discuss it confidently.

In addition, it is important to have a good understanding of general knowledge, including current affairs. You don't need to know everything, but having a basic understanding of what is happening in the world can be useful. Furthermore, having an opinion about current events can be even more important than your knowledge of them.

Some XIMB interviews may also include philosophical questions, so it is helpful to have a philosophical bent of mind and be able to think critically about abstract concepts. This can help you to demonstrate your ability to think deeply and creatively.

During the interview, it is important to present yourself confidently, even if you don't know the answer to a question. Smile and be positive, as this can help you to build a good rapport with the interviewer. Remember that it's not just about what you know, but also how you present yourself and how well you can convince the interviewer of your suitability for the program.

In general, when preparing for any business school interview, it's important to have a good understanding of your domain knowledge and to keep up-to-date with daily news, particularly as it relates to business. Be prepared to discuss your work projects and know yourself well, as this will help you to answer questions confidently and authentically.

How can I prepare for the B.Stat. at ISI, Kolkata?

TD
Tina Dey Posted On : September 21st, 2021
Studied at Indian Statistical Institute (2018)

There are three sections in the entrance exam and the level of maths is the same as what you studied in your 12th. The exam follows the pattern of most high school mathematics competitions (RMO, INMO, etc).

The three sections of the Entrance Exam consist of MCQ, A Subjective Test, and an Interview.

The books you must know are:

  1. Problem Solving Strategies by Engel Arthur
  2. Test of Mathematics at the 10 + 2 level, Indian Statistical Institute, Published by Affiliated East-West Press Pvt. Ltd.
  3. Challenge and Thrill of Pre-College Mathematics by B. J. Venkatachala

You should complete these all and do previous year’s papers of ISI/CMI RMO, INMO and IMO.

For Interview:

  • Once you crack the exam, the interview part won’t be that difficult.
  • Answer the questions confidently and honestly.
  • The entrance exam of ISI is not easy and also there are only a few seats for B.Stat.
  • You have to prepare well.

Do not overthink and do your preparation well. This will help you a lot. Be calm and try to think of cracking the exam and the latter part would be an easy task for you.

Having been a topper in all my unit tests how should I prepare further for my anna university "first semester" exam to get a cgpa of 10?

HS
Harshita Saravanan Posted On : September 14th, 2021
Studied International Studies at Stella Maris College,Chennai (2020)

Having mentioned that you are a topper in all the unit tests, getting a CGPA of more than 9 would be an easy task for you. Having 20 marks in all your internals would be even more beneficial.

To get a CGPA of 10 is possible, in your first year. Here are some things you should keep in mind for your preparation.

  • Utilize study holidays effectively – For the first semester examinations, the gap between them maybe a day or two. You have to complete the syllabus in the 10 to 15 days of study holidays. Make sure to revise every important portion the day before the exam.
  • Engineering Graphics – Practice more drawings and present the diagrams clearly and neatly. It is a 4 credit paper.
  • Engineering Mathematics – Do not just read the problems, work them out then and there. This will make you confident on the day of your exam.
  • Engineering Physics and Chemistry – The physics and chemistry papers are much easier compared to the class 12th syllabus. Study the textbook thoroughly. Understand the concepts. Present the answers with diagrams wherever necessary. Instead of writing long paragraphs, use points.
  • Technical English – Focus on the grammar first, Examiners tend to read that part fully while evaluating. So try getting full marks in that part which creates a good impression. That might help to get more marks in the forthcoming sections.

Presentation is one of the most important aspects. While writing use blue or black pens. Write answers in points and use Sub-headings. Try to keep your answer sheet neat and tidy and avoid unnecessary scribbling.

How do I prepare for isb Hyderabad?

TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : March 6th, 2023
Studied at the Indian School of Business

To prepare for GMAT, you should start by reviewing the test format and content, and develop a study plan that suits your learning style and schedule. Practice regularly with official GMAT materials and take practice tests to track your progress.

In addition to getting a good GMAT score, you should focus on building your resume. Look for relevant work experience, internships, or volunteering opportunities that align with your career goals. You can also enhance your profile by taking courses or certifications in your field of interest.

It's important to maintain good academic scores as well, especially if you're applying to top business schools. Make sure to prioritize your studies and aim for good grades throughout your academic journey.

Once you have a strong profile, you should work on creating a compelling story of why you want to pursue an MBA. Think about your career aspirations, your values, and how an MBA can help you achieve your goals. Use this story to guide your application materials, including your recommendations, essays, and interview responses.

To secure strong recommendations, choose people who know you well and can speak to your strengths and potential. Provide them with clear guidance on what you want to highlight in your application and give them enough time to write a thoughtful recommendation.

When it comes to writing your essay, be sure to showcase your unique perspective and voice. Use specific examples and anecdotes to illustrate your achievements and experiences. Take the time to revise and edit your essay to ensure that it's well-organized and error-free.

Finally, prepare for your interview by researching the school and the program, and practicing your responses to common interview questions. Dress professionally and be on time for your interview. Remember to be yourself, be confident, and demonstrate your enthusiasm for the program.

How do I write IGNOU assignments?

TB
Tushar Babbar Posted On : October 17th, 2022
MA in Public Administration, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

Below are the tips that you can follow while writing assignments:

  • Copying ready-made assignments aren't worth it because the answers aren't always correct. So, if you want to copy, think about it first.

  • To write assignments, you can use either rule sheets or A4 size sheets. Because assignments must be written by hand.

  • Before beginning to write assignments, go over the questions and try to find answers in textbooks. You're likely to get the majority of your answers from them.

  • Use online resources because some topics are better explained in online resources than in textbooks.

  • Leave some space before writing the next question if you're writing in continuation. Alternatively, you can begin a new answer on a new page. It will leave no room for uncertainty or ignorance.

  • If the question asks for an explanation, include the conclusion in your response under the heading "Conclusion."

  • Highlight key lines or points in your responses.

  • If you're a working professional taking an IGNOU course, set a goal of writing one answer per day. This allows you to write assignments quickly and without feeling rushed. It is preferable if you can write a couple of answers per day. It will assist you in avoiding a last-minute run.

  • On the cover page, include page numbers and the total number of pages for an assignment. If the officials misplace a couple of pages, it is their responsibility, and you will benefit from it.

  • Complete assignments correctly. The sheets must be properly stapled. Also, submit it in a report file rather than a stick file to avoid misplacement by officials.

Writing assignments on your own helps you prepare for exams. Because it forces you to study the topics in a subject and provides you with an understanding of the topics. So, rather than asking someone else to write it for you, try writing it yourself.
