Is Symbiosis Pune better than NMIMS Mumbai for an MBA in terms of placements?

TD
Tezal Dahiya Posted On : June 15th, 2023

To begin, you must reduce your college options; Symbiosis offers many colleges in and around Pune. SIBM is the best in this category, followed closely by SCMHRD (just for HR).

So, for the sake of comparison, let's stick to these two.

Long story short, SIBM and SCHHRD would outperform NMIMS in terms of specific placements, but NMIMS takes the cake in terms of total placement and legitimacy.

Symbiosis is a rather diverse but not particularly well-structured college campus, and the plethora of possibilities can lead to some confusion, particularly when distinguishing the cream from the rest.

NMIMS, on the other hand, offers selective courses and hence has a superior overall atmosphere.

Finally, in terms of fees and ROI, NMIMS easily wins.

MK
Manika Kapoor Posted On : September 30th, 2020
B.E Electrical and Electronics Engineering, PES University (2021)

Being ranked 93 for engineering in India by NIRF 2020, PES University offers a B.Tech degree in EEE which majorly focuses on aspects like devices, power electronics, control theory; signal processing. The department has 15 experienced faculties along with several visiting professors from national institutes.

RVCE is ranked 70th by NIRF for Engineering. It offers a 4 years BE degree in telecommunication offering core specializations in Networking, Wireless Communications, Signal Processing, and Embedded Systems.

Admission:

PES University:

  • PES University considers K-CET, JEE main or PESSAT scores during the admission process.
  • KCET rank falling under 920 can assure you a place in the EEE branch.
  • Cutoff for 2A, 3A, SC, ST categories is 2864, 1650, 15482 and 8722 respectively.
  • PESU offers 120 seats in the EEE branch with an annual Tuition fee of 3.3 lakhs.’

RVCE:

  • One must clear KCET to get admitted to RVCE.
  • Scoring a rank under 1403 can fetch you a place in the telecommunication branch at RVCE.
  • Cutoff in 2019 for students under 2A, 3A, SC, ST categories are 5077, 3639, 22375 and 19302 respectively.

Placement statistics:

PES University:

  • 140+ companies visit the campus every year for the recruitment process with 856 offers being made this year.
  • 77 students from EEE branch got placed in top companies with an average package of 6.8LPA
  • Highest domestic CTC offered so far for an EEE graduate is 48LPA at PES University.
  • EEE branch has a placement rate of 84%
  • University even offers a summer internship program for 80-90% of students with an average stipend of 38k/month.

RVCE:

  • 249+ companies visited campus in 2020 with 1274 offers being made so far.
  • 87 students are placed from telecommunication branches with an average package of 8.63 LPA.
  • Highest CTC offered for a TCE graduate is 38 LPA.
  • Current placement rate of the telecommunication branch is 76%.
  • Core companies visiting campus are very few which includes Aircel, Dell India, Motorola, Honeywell, LG Electronics. Thus most of the students from the telecommunication branch land up in IT sectors.

Aspirants must decide which college is best for them as per their passion towards the subjects. Comparatively, the telecommunication branch has less opportunities in RVCE or anywhere in India in general. It must be noted that if you aim for higher studies by clearing GATE, EEE has an upper hand as there is no paper for telecommunication thus aspirants must attend ECE paper.

Which is the best for an MBA out of Fore School of Management, Delhi and IBS, Hyderabad?

DM
Debapriyo Mandal Posted On : February 16th, 2023
Lives in Hyderabad, Telangana, India (2015-present)

FORE School of Management is definitely the better choice than IBS Hyderabad. It is better in almost all aspects when compared to IBS Hyderabad. The table below has drawn a slight comparison on the basis of some basic factors

Parameters

FORE Management

IBS Hyderabad

Batch size

394

1100

Fees

?16.98 L

?5.25 L - 16.02 L

Average CTC

INR 14.5 LPA

INR 8.71 LPA

Ranking

60 (NIRF Management)

19 (NIRF Ranking)

From the above table we can infer the following points

  • The batch-size of FORE is much less than that of IBS Hyderabad thereby increasing the quality of education and placement opportunities
  • The average CTC of FORE Management is also higher than that of IBS Hyderabad
  • The fees is almost similar of both the schools and when compared to the average package, FORE has a better ROI than IBS Hyderabad
  • IBS Hyderabad has better rankings than FORE, but this stems from the fact that it is the oldest B school.

An additional feature of FORE that sets it further apart from IBS Hyderabad is its International Immersion Program. This program offers the kind of exposure you cannot even get at a reputed B School like IBS. You get exposed to the Global corporate world and the best part is that its fees are included in the course fees. So considering all the points mentioned above I conclude that FORE is a far better choice than IBS Hyderabad for MBA.

How and why is IIIT Vadodara better than VIT Vellore?

A
Admin Posted On : May 15th, 2024

The IITs, NITs and IIITs have a certain brand name attached to them which makes students feel that other engineering colleges might be inferior to them. However, this may not always be the case.

VIT Vellore is a reputed private institution, and it is better than IIIT Vadodara in many aspects-

  • VIT Vellore offers a greater variety of courses to choose from as compared to IIIT Vadodara.
  • Infact, VIT offers specialization courses in various engineering branches.
  • VIT Vellore was established much prior to IIIT Vadodara, which is why it has a much stronger industry reputation and alumni network.
  • VIT Vellore is ranked 11th in the NIRF Engineering 2023 rankings, while IIIT Vadodara does not make it into the top 100 list.
  • VIT has a rich extracurricular culture. The campus regularly organizes sports events, makeathons, hackathons, designing events, cultural events etc.
  • Some of the VIT faculty members are ex-IITians.
  • VIT is a private institution and has top class infrastructure facilities.

These are some reasons why I feel VIT Vellore is much better than IIIT Vadodara. Both the colleges will offer you good learning, but the exposure and opportunities provided by VIT Vellore are unparalleled.

NIT Jalandhar students secured 75 lakh packages. Is it beginning of the era of emergence of NITs over IITs

AS
Anuj Singh Posted On : December 7th, 2022
Studied Mechanical Engineering at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar ( NITJ ) (Graduated 2020

It’s good to see institutes other than IIT gaining fame. But the parameter of such assumptions is not good. Why do we Indians judge an institute mere based on the packages they offer. There are so many other false factors that increase or decrease the value of a man institute. So before deciding that NITs have become better than IITs consider the following points:

  • Placements and packages alone cannot determine the worth of a college.

  • Including IITs no college in India actually conducts the type of research a country needs.

  • There are many instances wherein companies prefer going to an average college for recruitment than a better ranked one. This is because they can than assure the sustainability of talents.

  • The starting salaries don’t help you succeed in the long run.

So we cannot say with certainty that NITs have overpowered IITs just because they were able to land better packages.
