RD
Rupsha Das Posted On : June 29th, 2021
B.E. Computer Science, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra (2016)

According to my brother’s opinion, you should always opt for a college that is famous for a particular domain that you want to get into. As we all know that IIIT Allahabad for IT and BIT Mesra for CS are well-known colleges.

IIIT Allahabad would be best even if you are a computer enthusiast or want to pursue that particular field. Since there is a coding culture at IIIT Allahabad, this can prepare you for the same in a better manner.

Being industry-oriented IIIT Allahabad has the potential of providing hands-on experience to you that can make you a master in your coding skills as the field demands.

The placements offered by IIIT Allahabad are very attractive. According to the recent statistics recorded in 2020, 96% of the students got placed in the respectful companies.

Is economics honors a better option or IPM offered at IIM Indore?

SJ
Shrey Jain Posted On : January 5th, 2023
Studied at Integrated Program in Management, IIM Indore (Graduated 2021)

Firstly Economics Honours required an in-depth study of Economics whereas the IPM program focuses on the many areas of Management. There is a drastic difference between the nature of both courses. No doubt Economics knowledge is beneficial for the IPM program but is not necessarily important. In IPM, Economics is just a 4 credit course in a term of about 30 credits.

IPM hugely emphasizes Quants over Economics. So if you are more interested in Economics, then IPM is not for you. Your choice should be a good college from DU North Campus. If you manage to get into one then pursuing Economic Honors is a much-preferred option over IPM. Don’t choose a below-average college for Economic Honors. In that case, go for IPM only.

Which has a greater career impact, EGMP certification from IIM Bangalore or Executive MBA (WX) from NMIMS?

BG
Bidita Ghose Posted On : May 25th, 2023
Lives in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

For EGMP certification from IIM Bangalore, you must have at least 5 years of experience, and the entire course fee is 6,76,000. The course is designed for working professionals who have not been exposed to many pivotal corporate shifts and want to broaden their managerial skills. The same would apply to an Executive MBA from NMIMS that requires a minimum of 3 years of work experience. Although there is a significant difference between the fees, it should not affect your choice if you’re planning on pursuing executive education. The brand image may not influence the chances of your success in the industry after working for more than 5 years. Still, it could definitely provide you with the right kind of assistance. So, in my opinion, you should go for IIM certification.

Should I join an MBA tech program in NMIMS Mumbai?

NJ
Ninad Jondhale Posted On : March 13th, 2023
MBA (Tech) from NMIMS(2020)

This program is not AICTE approved, which means you won't be able to give government exams. However, you can still get private jobs, but keep in mind that not many companies recognize this program, so there may be fewer job opportunities if you don't take up placement from the institute.

If you're planning to take admission in NMIMS, you should know that the admission fee is around Rs. 2,75,000. Paying around 25 lacs for a 5-year MBATech program may not be worth it. If you do decide to get a refund, you may face some problems. The person on the telephone might speak rudely, and the refund process can be time-consuming. Additionally, you need to send a cancellation form by post, which can also take some time.

There are cases where students have experienced some issues when they applied for a refund 20 days before the start of college, and they didn't receive a 100% refund. The college deducted 50000-55000 and provided reasons as to why the students weren't eligible for a full refund. Therefore, it's essential to do proper research, take suggestions from people, and read all the rules and regulations of UGC and AICTE before taking admission.

In summary, before taking admission to any institute, you should always do thorough research, take suggestions from others, and read all the rules and regulations. This will help you make an informed decision and avoid facing any problems later on.

Which is the best, IIM Trichy (HR), IIM Ranchi (HR) or IIM Kashipur core?

AG
Aditya N Gukhroo Posted On : January 6th, 2023
MBA from Indian Institute of Management Kashipur (Graduated 2019)

Before choosing a college you need to be certain of what you want to pursue. If you are adamant about pursuing HR, then IIM Ranchi is a better option because HR at IIM Trichy is relatively new and lacks rigor. But if you haven’t decided on a domain and are open to all options, go for Kashipur. It is a better choice as a whole. This is because it’s older and has a stronger alumni base.

For HR domain, choose IIM Ranchi over IIM Trichy. Apart from this, you have 2 other options - either go for IIM Kashipur or sit for a reattempt and aim for a better college

Should I choose USC, UIUC, or Syracuse University for my undergraduate study of architecture?

RK
Ravina Kumar Posted On : January 13th, 2021
Former Graduate Teaching Assistant at University of Southern California

The University of Southern California (USC) is a private university located in Los Angeles, California. The University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign (UIUC) is a public university located in the twin cities of Urbana and Champaign. The QS World University Rankings by subject 2020 – Architecture/Build Environment is given below –

  • University of Southern California (USC) - #51 - 100
  • University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign (UIUC) - #50
  • Syracuse University - #101 – 150

The rankings tell you one thing and the experience of the students another. The reputation and the number of graduates from the USC School of Architecture and Syracuse University School of Architecture are far more than the graduates from the Illinois School of Architecture – UIUC.

All these programs are quite close in terms of rankings as well. So academically you cannot go wrong with any of these three schools. Yet USC and Syracuse University still hold a little edge.

Your choice should also depend upon the area you want to settle down after graduating. USC is located on the west coast, UIUC in the midwest and Syracuse University on the east coast. If you want to work in New York, choose Syracuse University. If you want to work in California or Los Angeles, choose USC. It is not that they are not known nationally, but most of the hiring managers, some of whom may be alumni, are located in companies closer to the university itself, thus a better chance of getting employed in that region.

Also some may prefer the quiet regions of upstate New York or Illinois while some may marvel at the architectural designs in and around the city of Los Angeles. This is strictly a personal choice. Also factor in the huge and ever growing alumni network of USC, which makes it a compelling choice.

If you combine all these factors, then University of Southern California (USC) emerges as a clear winner among the three for studying architecture.

Which institute is better for a PhD in economics (in terms of exposure, curriculum, study methods, etc.), IIM Ahmedabad or IIM Bangalore?

PP

IIM is a brand in itself. IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore are prestigious institutes.

Both are equally good for a Phd in Economics. You may choose either of the two for your higher studies. You can also consider Jamia Millia Islamia for a Phd. A Phd. from this college is also highly valued.

Look into the research interests of the faculty while making a choice. This is the most important factor that you should consider while choosing a college for your Phd.

Both IIMA and IIMB are a good choice for your higher studies. You must choose between them based on your goals.
