Frankly speaking, both Electronics and Instrumentation and CSE are equally good branches that open up ample opportunities in the future. Let us have a brief comparison of the NIT Silchar, E&I, and TEZU.
Infrastructure – TEZU is leading in terms of the best infrastructure and well-equipped lab facilities, especially in the CSE branch.
Faculty – TEZU is gifted with more highly qualified and experienced faculties than others.
Placement – NITs and TEZU have had a good record of placement in recent years.
Research – CSE has an active and advanced research environment at TEZU.
Other than the qualities of the institute, your initial preference should be given to your interest in the core subject.
MIT Manipal BTech Information Technology is decently structured covering concepts related to software, hardware, and networking as well. Although the degree offered is that B.E in IT, the department is called Information and Communication Technology so students have to also study communication courses straight from students of the ECE branch.
I will advise you to take up this course only if you are interested in computers and related stuff because the concepts taught are tough and unless you have an interest in the field you won’t be able to cope with the rigorous curriculum. Here are some additional points you would like to know about the branch
Overall, this branch will fetch you enough opportunities if you are genuinely passionate about it.
IISc Bengaluru’s BS Program is still in its infancy but has great scope for development in the near future. In fact, I consider this program even better than the Engineering Physics offered at IIT Delhi. A few strong reasons support my stance on the same area:
Despite being a new course, I will highly recommend you to go for it owing to the tremendous scope of development it has.
If you are confused between PEC and Jalandhar for CSE, I would suggest going for NIT Jalandhar. Here you will avail some additional benefits like:
More experienced faculty and thereby better teaching quality.
The tag of being an NIT student is quite valuable.
Students belonging to financially weak strata can get fees relaxation. Exact details can be sought from the official website.
Placements are much better at NIT Jalandhar than PEC. The highest package offered at NIT Jalandhar this year was INR 62 LPA while that at PEC was INR 43 LPA
NIT Jalandhar had been ranked 52 by the NIRF rankings in 2020, while the PEC Chandigarh had been ranked 68 by the NIRF.
NIT Jalandhar has a lot more to offer than PEC. Also, it’s brand name will help you in the future.
IIT Patna is a second-generation IIT and is still in its development phase. Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest branches of IIT Patna and thus is more well-established than other branches. The department is known for its highly qualified and learned faculty and its modern and well-equipped labs.
Coming to the most important aspect, the placements. Check the table below for placement statistics:

Leading PSUs like IOCL, DRDO and also ISRO visit for placements in addition to many core and non-core companies.
The students are provided with many opportunities to enhance their skills and get maximum exposure. They can be a part of teams of SUPRA BAJA, ROBOCON, HPVC, etc. right from the first year. The seniors are very helpful and guide the juniors in every possible way. They are taught to design and construct bots for intra and inter-college competitions like Death Race, Aqua Soccer, Robot Wars, etc. in the first year itself.
All in all, IIT Patna Mechanical Engineering is a well-regarded branch that will render you a lot of experience. So, don’t hesitate just because it’s a new IIT and look at the bigger picture.
I had the same choice in front of me a few years back. As a student of DTU, I can present before you some pros of choosing it over IIIT Delhi for CSE. These are-
However, the CSE curriculum at IIIT Delhi is more up-to-date. Also, as DTU has a huge number of students for CSE, the competition is high.
Despite these cons, I believe DTU CSE is a better choice. But your decision should be based on your personal preferences.
MDU Rohtak is a decent university. It is suggested that you weigh your options such as placements, distance from your residence, transport facilities, faculty, etc. before opting for MDU Rohtak.

If you do not wish to end up regretting your decision you should do a thorough research of the university, after that choose accordingly.
Truth be told, n=both CSB and ECE at IIT Delgi will be excellent academic decisions because IIIT Delhi is well-known for imparting quality education. You should consider your own inlciation whole choosing between CSB and ECE rather than the newness of the branch and its credibility because, at the end of the day, your interests matter more than anything. You won't be able to excel at even an old and well-established branch if you have no interest in it while may excel in a new branch if you are genuinely interested in it. So, the opportunities you will be offered depend on your passions.
You can go through the course descriptions mentioned on the institute's website. CSB might be a relatively new branch but IIIT Delhi has been offering biology courses. You can check the profiles of the faculty.
Remember, a new branch may impose certain disadvantages but so will a branch that does not intrigue you genuinely. There won't be any major difference in terms of higher studies and placements.
So, choose wisely!
