Is it better to get a degree of an M.Sc. in Economics from IIT Kharagpur or BITS Hyderabad?

AS
Atul Sharma Posted On : March 27th, 2023
Works at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT KGP)

It’s better to talk about both institutes individually to make a more informed decision.

IIT Kharagpur offers a 5-year Integrated M.Sc in Economics and has a wide scope today. There are many advantages to being a part of the IIT KGP family

  • It has a rich culture
  • Learn and explore new things
  • Branch change at the end of the first year
  • You can seek great help from seniors
  • You get a lifetime tag of being an IITian

Similarly, BITS Hyderabad too offers an integrated MSc degree in Economics. Additionally, you can add an extra major (BE course) in your first year, but this is optional. The institute has no lucrative points apart from the fact that it is a decent Engineering college sought by those who are unable to make it into IITs.

Personally, I would suggest you go for an IIT because of the brand name and legacy. You won’t regret this decision later because of the IIT Tag that will already come to your rescue.

Which one is better correspondence course MA psychology from from IGNOU or MSc Psychology from University of Madras?

RD
Ritabhari Dasgupta Posted On : July 13th, 2022
MA in Counseling Psychology (college major) & Counseling Psychology, Shreemati Nathibai

IGNOU is better recognized for distance courses. So, pursuing a correspondence course in MA Psychology will be better. However, if possible try to do a regular course in counseling, clinical or industrial psychology. Psychology is practical oriented subject, and you will need to do dissertations, practicals, and internships as a part of coursework. Being a practical-based course, the career outcomes of correspondence degrees in Psychology are somewhat limited.

Are 5 year int MSC students eligible to change their branch to any 4 yr B.Tech branch after 2nd sem in internal sliding at SVNIT?

AS
Amit Sharma Posted On : January 9th, 2024
Studied at NIT Surat

No, one can not switch from iMSc. to B.Tech after the first year. The first year courses of both these programs are entirely different. But one can change one’s branch within the iMSc. to and from Physics/Chemistry/Maths.

Having answered this question, here are the good aspects of iMSc. at SVNIT-

  1. The crowd of iMSc. is very smart and focused, and the environment is highly inclined towards research and innovation.
  1. The course offers plenty of time to follow one’s passions like sports, drama, coding, etc. This is an important factor for personality development.
  1. The iMSc. faculty is amazing. The teachers are highly passionate about their subjects, and have a high regard for their respective fields.
  1. SVNIT offers top notch hostel infrastructure and internet facilities. In this regard, it is better than the top NITs, and even some of the IITs.

The iMSc. program is no less than any B.Tech branch of SVNIT. With hardwork and dedication, one can do wonders with this degree.

Which one is the best: an M.Sc in Applied Psychology from Annamalai University’s distance education or an M.A in Applied Psychology from Chandigarh University’s distance education?

NT
Niraj Thakur Posted On : November 19th, 2022

It will be difficult to choose between Annamalai University and Chandigarh University, just as it is difficult to choose where to study when there are so many options. I recommend that you look into Chandigarh University's distance learning program. Chandigarh University's distance education department is relatively new, but it is very promising.

The Institute of Distance & Online Learning at Chandigarh University is UGC-DEB accredited, making it an approved distance learning program. Moving on, the facilities and support in distance programs are very helpful and student-friendly. First and foremost, you will receive all study materials and have free access to their online content, which includes videos, e-courses, SLM, and quizzes. Aside from multimedia and course materials, the CU LMS (Learning Management System for distance learners) includes features such as rubrics, teacher and instructor-facilitated learning, a discussion board, a course tracker, download and submit assignments, interact with faculty, and a virtual programming environment and e-library.

Furthermore, despite being a distance learner, you will be able to visit the campus, participate in numerous workshops and seminars, and gain first-hand experience with industry tools. With a curriculum that meets international and industry standards, you will also have access to the university's placement drive, which means you can even be placed via distance education.

M.Sc in Mathematics at Pondicherry University (PU) (2021)

I have a few friends from the Mathematics department of Pondicherry University. Here is what they had to say about the department.

The Mathematics block is known as the Ramanujan School of Mathematical Sciences.

The school aims to impart quality academics to students in different sections of Mathematics and Statistics, through different post-graduate study programs in Mathematics and Statistics.

  • These two departments of the school have an extremely qualified faculty, alongside a well-established infrastructure with the inclusion of decent laboratories. The institute also has excellent computing facilities.
  • The research activity that’s being carried out as of now is in various emerging disciplines.
  • Students, in addition, also secure placements in several MNCs.

This is everything that you should be aware of about Pondicherry University. Hope this helps answer your question.
