How are the branches of CSE and ECE at NIT Calicut?
One of my friends is a student of NIT Calicut and according to him, the CS department is the best in the institute. It is also among the top 3 CS branches in NITs.

Both 5-year BTech + MTech in CSE in IIT Delhi and 4-year BTech in CSE in IIT Kanpur are great options for the students to pursue. However, it depends on the choice of the students which course they want to opt for in their career

Which is a better option: aerospace engineering in IIT Kanpur or production and industrial engineering in IIT Delhi?
IIT Kanpur has several advantages over IIT Delhi. A few are mentioned below:
- Unlike IIT Delhi, branch change facility is not restricted to the first year only and one can change branches even after the 2nd year
- IIT Kanpur offers an enriched campus life with great relations between students as well as students and faculty.
- There are no LAN restrictions at IIT Kanpur whereas, IIT Delhi restricts usage of LAN from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.
Lastly, once you enter IIT, your branch rarely matters. Your placements solely depend on your CG, your skills, and the efforts you invested throughout. So, go for a branch that matches your area of interest and you are good to go.
Which is best, CSE/ECE at JMI Delhi or IET Lucknow?
I would suggest you to go for JMI Delhi. The reason for this is that JMI is very similar to the NITs. The environment and crowd are top-notch. Seniors at Jamia are also very helpful and cooperative.
The professors and other members of the faculty are well-experienced. They even help you plan your career after college. JMI alumni help you out in getting jobs and a decent salary amount.

Though it is your decision to make, I still would prefer the fact that you choose JMI Delhi over IET Lucknow, for CSE or ECE. Studying in a well-reputed institution with years of educational experience is much better. This will help in networking as well.
What is the difference between the CSE and computer and communication engineering courses at the Manipal Institute of Technology?
Here are some key differences between the CSE and Computer and Communication Engineering courses at the Manipal Institute of Technology.
- CCE comes under the I&CT department so it comprises concepts related to networking and communication along with a few modules of CSE while CSE deals with an algorithmic approach to solving problems and software engineering.
- CCE is a new branch and its placement scenario is unknown although it has become the 4th most popular branch. CSE is the most preferred branch of MIT Manipal and therefore also has the best placements.
CCE has a lot of courses like Cloud Computing, Big Data Analysis, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Computer Vision. Specialization in these courses makes you a favorable candidate for placements in a lot of giant tech companies. So both the courses offer excellent job opportunities.

If you ask me which one to choose I would say choosing Textile from IIT Delhi is a better option than opting for Electrical in IIT Mandi.

- IIT Delhi offers 4 years full-time undergraduate program for Textile Engineering, the average course fee is around INR 10-8 lakhs.
- IIT provides good placement opportunities for the students with about 90% of the students being placed.
- The highest package is INR 60 LPA and the average package is between INR 15- 20 LPA.
If one were to choose between IIT BHU Electronics/Electrical, Civil or Chemical at IIT Madras/Kharagpur and Engineering Physics at IIT Delhi/ Madras, what should they do?
I have a friend who goes to IIT Delhi and was able to give some information regarding the Engineering Physics course offered by the institute. Here is what he had to say.
If you want to do a core job just after completing your degree, B.Tech in Engineering Physics will not be the right choice for you. If you opt for it, you will have to go for higher studies like MS or Ph.D. after your B.Tech.
You will need to go for a research-oriented career if you wish to utilize your major. Most of the graduates who pursue engineering physics at IITD are placed in various consultancy jobs and as software engineers. This is because they had obtained a minor degree in CS and only a few people pursue higher studies after BTech.
So, it depends on your interest and future goals. For the other choices, you can reach out to the students of the respective institute for detailed information.

How is JNTU College of Engineering, Manthani, for CSE?
My brother visited JNTUH-CEM for some Workshop Training Classes and also visited the Manthani Campus before his EAMCET Counseling choice filling. Here's how he described the College
- The climate is hot and humid even during winters, the reason being the location of Coal Fields nearer to the College Campus.
- The college provides decent accommodation facilities and more hostels are under construction to house the increasing batch size.
- The CS department here is not well-established and has only 2 permanent faculty. One is the HOD and the other is the Vice-Principal of JNTUH-CEM. Most classes are conducted by Contract based faculty members. Out of these, only a few are good at teaching.
- JNTUH CEM students are eligible to participate in recruitments held by JNTUH for its Constituent Colleges all combined. The official placement figures are a bit inflated so don't be disappointed.
I am strongly against you joining this college especially if you can make it into the colleges that come under the top 20/30 rankings in Telangana State. But if you are joining JNTUH CEM because of financial issues, then consider joining JNTUH CES only. This is because it is located in Hyderabad and therefore offers better opportunities than Mathani. There are a plethora of coaching institutes here such as GATE coaching, GRE coaching, etc.
What is the average placement for EE at IEM, Kolkata?
According to the recent highlights of IEM, Kolkata placements, the average CTC for EE is around INR 5-6 LPA. In recent placements, the highest CTC received by the student of Electrical Engineering is INR 12 LPA. The placement rate for the branch is around 80-90%. Students get recruited in core job profiles as well as IT job profiles. TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, etc. are among the major recruiters to take part in the placement drive.
