The maths and Computing program offered at IIT Delhi has a higher level of Mathematical concepts and fewer CS concepts. Many take the program under the pretext of attracting CS placements but the curriculum has more mathematical concepts.
Coursework: The coursework is very intriguing for those who are genuinely interested in the program but might seem difficult and boring for some. Moreover, maintaining a high SGPA in this course is really challenging and almost impossible.
Extracurricular: The rigorous curriculum leaves no space for extracurriculars and your schedule is always packed with some or other activities. The holidays and leisure available are less in comparison to other courses.
Placements: The course offered by the MnC Department of IIT Delhi has an excellent placement scenario and you will not be disappointed with the packages offered.
Overall, the program has a lot to offer in terms of curriculum and placements so is a good choice.
When faced with a similar situation different people make different choices. There is no right choice as it’s a matter of personal preference. IIT Indore CSE and BITS Pilani EEE are both lucrative options and thus only your personal choices can determine the right one.
There are some who wish to grab the IIT tag and want to take CS because the branch is a major crowd-puller. While some want to experience the brand and prestige of the old BITS Pilani.
I would suggest you go for IIT Indore as the small batch size has its own benefits and moreover, IIT Indore has been growing quickly and seems to give more promising results in the future. The small batch size gives the vibe of a small family and you will love the bond here. BITS Pilani on the other hand has its own aura with Meritocracy as the mantra but its high fees are a major issue.
Both the institutes are equally good and choosing one of the other wouldn’t be a regretful decision.
It depends on you. All three colleges are good in terms of alumni and placements. But, there lies a competition between NIT Calicut and BITS.
Although both have been in existence for a long time now, are excellent colleges, both have a good brand value, one gives you a tag of a NITian and the other gives you a tag of a BITSian, the difference lies in their ranking and placement records.
NIT C is among the top 4 NITs in our country. If we consider the ECE department, it is almost at the same level as NIT Trichy. The average placement for circuit branches is around 12 LPA and the highest placement might go above 30 LPA. Additionally, a higher number of companies recruit from NIT C. BITS Pilani, Goa also provides great placements and good courses. The average CTC offered at BITS Goa is 5 LPA. Apart from infrastructure and attendance policy, other things are similar.
However, PSU visits the NIT Calicut campus during placement drives. A student of the ECE department can sit during the IT placement which is difficult in BITS if you do not take some specific courses.
Both the colleges have certain merits and demerits. The distinguishing factor can be the fee structure. If money is not a concern for you, you can go for BITS Goa but for middle-class students, NIT C would be the best option.
A 4-year CSE from IIITDM Jabalpur will be better than that of IIIT Gwalior. It is a fairly new branch at the institute and students of this branch compete with 5-year IPG steam students which are the main ruler of the institute.
A brief comparison of the courses mentioned in the question is given below.
Particulars |
IIITDM Jabalpur |
IIITM Gwalior |
MANIT Bhopal |
Average CTC |

Paytm, Myntra, Amazon, Adobe, etc. |
Bajaj, L&T, Volvo, etc. |
If you only consider placement, Electrical at MANIT Bhopal is not comparable to CSE at IIITs. So, it will be better if you choose a 4-year CSE of IIITDM or a 5-year IPG at IIIT Gwalior.
According to some of my friends studying at BITS Goa, it is undeniably a very established institute to pursue Computer Science (CS). One of the main reasons is the faculty BITS Goa essentially involves. Under their supervision, you will be part of handling several projects in your course of study.
However, at times, it might get quite difficult securing certain individual projects under the guidance of professors due to a huge amount of competition.
Here is the latest placement report of BITS Goa,
Highest Salary Package | INR 25 LPA |
Average Salary Package | INR 12-16 LPA |
Top Recruiting Companies | BNY Mellon, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, ZS Associates, Microsoft, Ebay, Paypal, Tesco, KPMG, etc. |
On the flip side, you will indisputably acquire a good set of experience from both PS 1 and PS 2. The placement drive is usually very robust, since the institute is often visited by various top IT firms. However, since the competition is quite high, it might get slightly difficult. Although, it will be worth it nonetheless.
Both IIT Patna and IIT Jodhpur are well-renowned institutions.
My brother pursued his CSE at IIT Jodhpur. According to him, you will enjoy studying CSE at IIT Jodhpur.
Check out the CSE course details at IIT Jodhpur to draw a statistical comparison between the two.
It is suggested you choose CSE at KIIT University. One of my friends studied there. According to him, there is no comparison between the branch of KIIT CSE and CET.

There are many reasons why one must consider choosing IIT Gandhinagar over IIT Dhanbad. IT Dhanbad is only known for its mining and petroleum engineering so pursuing Mechanical Engineering from there isn’t a wide choice. Moreover, IIT Gandhinagar enjoys a location advantage in comparison to Dhanbad. Another added advantage is that IIT Gandhinagar lets you complete BTech in 3.5 years. Given below are some other reasons why choosing IIT Gandhinagar will be more beneficial
Why you could choose IIT Gandhinagar?
Overall, I would suggest you go for IIT Gandhinagar!
For branch change from mining to MNC in IIT BHU, one needs to consider the following points.
As per the policy, a student of a 4-year program(Btech) can get his branch changed to a 4-year program(Btech) only and a student of a 5-year program(IDD) can get his branch changed to a 5-year program(IDD) only. Considering this, you cannot get your branch changed to MNC unless you are in a 5-year program (IDD) at IIT-BHU mining. IIT BHU offers only an IDD program in Mathematics and Computing.
Another branch change policy states that the total intake of a branch during branch change should be 10% of the total batch strength. Now, Maths and Computing have very few students, only around 20-25. This means only 2 students can get their branch changed into MNC. This results in tough competition and one has to score at least 9.7 CPI to be eligible for branch change.
At BIET Jhansi, you will be most likely to learn subjects that have no connection with Computer Engineering. It will include subjects like C language and its basics. But if you have any basic knowledge of any of these programming languages like C, C++, Java then there’s nothing to worry about.
Don't carry any such book as there are plenty of books available in the departmental library for every requirement. Also, with an online library, you will find books on every genre including your subjects books too.
