What keeps you connected with the education sector and how has your experience been so far with the institute?

Continuous thrust for learning and passion to educate youths of our society are the key factors”

Teaching and research are my passions. Since finishing my MBA, I’ve been associated with the education sector. Education along with health is the key factor to determine the quality of human capital that rests with any nation including India. Being a professor, I endeavor to contribute to the creation of capable human capital who can solve problems and create value in our socio-economic and cultural environment. This idea keeps me enthused and engaged with learning environment.

Being the assistant professor, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“To provide best education, guidance and motivation to our students”

I ensure to have enough time to interact with students with a vision of a healthy association and collaboration with them. Thus, as an assistant professor of an outstanding educational institute, I am responsible for cultivating a culture of purpose, motivation and strength for the future generations to come. I use business simulations, case studies, live projects, and other pedagogical practices to make sure our students are well prepared to become industry managers and leaders.

What extracurricular activities are organized by college to enhance the skills of the students?

“Diverse co-curricular and technological activities are offered to students”

Extracurricular activities are an important part of your college application. They are mainly academic, community and personality activities. Our college do have cultural forums to organize various activities like singing, dancing, debates and other passions where students can showcase their talents at inter college levels. Workshops, International Seminars and webinars once or twice a semester are organized to gain appropriate skills in Programming.

How does the curriculum of your institute ensure the future preparedness of students?

“We have initiated multiple programs as per industry needs and also conduct professional talks”

We know that today’s students will need a variety of skills to stand apart from the crowd. If I talk about fulfilling industry demands through curriculum, our college has taken many initiatives over last few years to bridge the gap between industry and academia like project base learning, regular talks and seminars by industry experts and professionals. In project-based learning, students are given open ended problems and they are required to provide solution for the same.

How do you bring in practical and industry oriented approach towards subjects?

“We do have various personality development and technical subjects apart from the typical syllabus to accommodate industry demands”

Currently, students have to study co-curricular subjects, such as personality development, career guidance, health and physical education, information and communication technology, NCC and work-experience, which carry certain marks each. The marks obtained are later converted into grades.

What are the approaches you have introduced apart from curriculum to teach the students?

“We do have special programs for them apart from curriculum”

We have identified students who have a niche to make a career in some special fields right from the first year and thus this gives us a head start to mold them as required for the profession. Apart from Curriculum I have kept special training sessions to enhance student’s basic skills and knowledge required for making a strong professional career.

What makes your institute unique in comparison to others?

“We do have best infrastructure and education facilities”

Institute has a world-class infrastructure that supports ‘learning by doing’ through workshops and labs.

What do you see as the greatest strengths of your college?

“Our teaching and non-teaching staff, students and every stakeholder are the main pillars of our institute”

We put conscious efforts towards developing a holistic and multidisciplinary education system. Optimal learning environments and support for students are the backbone of our philosophy of the institute. Motivated, energized and capable faculties are the cause for our consistent progress. Each stakeholder of the Institute, directly or indirectly, contributes to the growth of the institute making it strong to sustain in this competitive environment.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education in general?

“Lack of proper education opportunities, employment statistics and interest in research and development are some of the biggest challenges”

After more than 70 years of independence, India's higher education system has still not been developed fully. It is evidenced by its poor performance in institutional rankings (not a single Indian university in top 100 universities of the world), the poor employment status of its students, poor track record in receiving national awards and recognition, poor share in research funding and so on.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Learn from other’s and form strong network with brightest minds around you”

One of the best way for you to move forward and achieve your life’s goals is by learning from the people who are already successful. By opening your heart to listen to their advice, you will probably reach your goals much faster. It is important to focus on the kind of attitude that you choose to display when you are at work turning your dreams into reality, rather than what you already know.
