Dr. Sheetal Chhabra is an Assistant Professor in Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Technology and Management, Indore which is affiliated with Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He is a passionate teacher having vast teaching experience of about 16 years with a Ph.D., MBA (Marketing), and MCM. His areas of interest include E-Business, Digital Marketing, and Web Technology. Presently, he is coordinating the Placement Department and Exam Department of LBSITM.

What keeps you connected with the Education Sector?

“My passion for teaching kept me connected to the education sector”

Societies with better education opportunities have lower crime. My experience at LBSITM is full of learning and grooming. I completed my Ph.D. in 2020. Teaching a student to take pleasure in a study is the greatest patron of his intellectual success.


What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“To teach students and conduct interviews for them”

Being Asst Professor and Placement Coordinator of LBSITM my roles and responsibilities include teaching and training to UG and PG students. Prepare all resumes and conduct interviews with all students and provide assistance to all graduates and review all procedures of the placement department.


Do you have any extracurricular programs to enhance the skills of the students?

“To provide students with extracurricular activities to expose them to real-world challenges”

Business simulation and Microsoft Excel enhance the skills of the students so that they can face real-world challenges. Participating in extracurricular activities builds teamwork, communication, relationships, and a sense of belonging, all of which help students to develop socially and be successful. Participation in extracurricular activities demonstrates the importance of community involvement


How does the curriculum of (LBSITM) ensure that the students are being prepared for the future?

“Provide students with industrial-oriented practical knowledge”

The curriculum of LBSITM ensures complete knowledge of theory and practicality. Timely up-gradation of syllabus improves required skills of the students. It is high-impact practices like these that allow students to learn the value of teamwork, develop leadership skills, and apply classroom learning to real-life problems.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects?

“Providing Students with industry-oriented subjects”

Subjects such as E-business, Marketing Management, and Digital Marketing are taught in the context of the application of product development, Facebook marketing, etc. The whole environment of a practical lesson is a little less formal and a little more relaxed, leading to an easier flow of conversation between teachers and students.


What are the approaches you bring in apart from curriculum to teaching the students?

“Collaborative learning, blended learning approaches improve learning of the students”

Collaborative learning, blended learning approaches play a vital role in the learning process of the students. Some examples of useful interventions include building relationships, adapting the environment, managing sensory stimulation, changing communication strategies, providing prompts and cues, using a teach, review, and reteach process, and developing social skills. 


What would you like people to know about your institute they may not know?

“People should know that our institute provides students with skill development programs”

LBSITM stands for Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Technology and Management and has been established to spread the culture of staying rooted with values and ethics and at the same time develop skills and competencies to help every student that joins the institute.

What are some of the biggest challenges both for higher education in general and for your institute specifically?

“Covid-19 is the biggest challenge for both”

The outbreak of the global pandemic, Covid-19, has impacted higher education across the globe. It has had a significant impact on higher education. Despite this, educational organizations have been quick to adopt innovative ways to continue developing the standards. However, the challenges are many, and the way forward needs to be thought through for its long-term effectiveness.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Students should be humble but not a follower”

Trust your instincts, dreams remain dreams until you take action. If you want growth in your life, start making mistakes but learn from them. Be humble but Do not be a follower.
