She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at University of Madras,Master of Science at University of Madras, Master of Philosophy and Doctorate completed in University of Madras. She has overall 13 years of teaching experience and 1.5 years of Research years. She is skilled in Molecular Biology Techniques, Gel electrophoresis, DNA, RNA isolation and Purification techniques, RT- PCR, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence, Biochemistry (Enzymology), Column chromatography, microbial Studies as well as Cell culture techniques. She is also a Committee Member at National conference on trends in biopharmaceutics , and 27 November 2020 National conference on Recent trends in Lifestyle disease management. The bilingual teaching and multimedia teaching are accessible to faculties. We follow problem-based and elicitation methods of teaching. Limited Flipped classroom and Oral lecture without the help of any other means even ppt slides. 


How do you tend to build an industry connection with this program?

Impact of biochemistry has been seen most notably in the medical and pharmaceutical industries. However, biochemistry plays a fundamental role in everyday life affecting different aspects of society from retail, food, cosmetics, and fashion to healthcare. Biochemistry has been involved in the development of many products and processes used every day. These include the discovery and improvement of medical products, cleaning products and DNA recombinant technology. It can be used to make important molecules such as insulin and food additives. Biochemical and binocular knowledge has also assisted the quality and quantity of food production through improved agrochemicals, development of crops with enhanced resistance to pests and disease. The preparation of foods that improve human health which includes pre- and probiotics and antioxidants.


What challenges did you face while inculcating this program into your curriculum?

“No challenges faced by us till date due to the parent subject”

There are no challenges faced by us because biochemistry itself is a parent subject. Biochemistry contains several branches. These include Enzymology, Endocrinology, Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering, Immunology, Structural Biochemistry, Neurochemistry; and Cell Biology. Each of these disciplines concerns a different component of biochemistry. 


What are the types of projects that the students are working on through this program?

“Toxicological studies, phytochemistry, pharmacology and more are studied by students nowadays”

Nanoscience, nanosensors, nano-formulated drugs, drug delivery system, preclinical studies, toxicological studies, phytochemistry, and pharmacology are worked by students nowadays.
