Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.
Niharika: “There were 2 members in my panel - One was a male in his 40s and the other was a female in her 30s. The interview was online and mine went on for around 15-20 minutes. It was a decent interview and most of the questions were based on the dairy and food industry since I am a dairy technologist. I would say that it's really important, to be honest, and confident in an interview. Always have that decent smile on your face and even if you are feeling nervous (because most of the time you do), don't let it show on your face. And most importantly, don't fake it.”

Mention at least 5 interview questions that were asked to you and your responses to each of them.
Niharika: “Question 1: What other alternatives can be used as a dairy packaging material which is currently not being used in the industry right now?
Answer: I think we can use casein-based plastic material. Casein is a by-product of milk and can be converted to biodegradable plastic. The packaging material will have better oxygen barrier properties and it would also act as a biodegradable option.
Question 2: What do you think would be cheaper than the prevalent options?
Answer: Yes, it will be much cheaper. (I don't know why I said this but then I thought it would be better to stick to what I have already said)
Question 3: Why do you think so?
Answer: Because every year, most of the milk by-products get wasted, and utilizing casein would help in preventing wastage. And since it is a biodegradable source, there won't be any need to recycle it. So, in the big picture, it would be cheaper both in economic as well as environmental aspects. (I think it was a dumb answer but still, I answered it confidently)
Question 4: What's your city famous for? (I am from Kurukshetra, Haryana)
Answer: Kurukshetra has its history as well as national importance. Historically, it is famous for the war of Mahabharata and Gita recitation, and in terms of national importance, it has two national institutes including the National Institute of Technology and the National Institute of Design. Also, it has many famous historical places related to Mahabharata as well.
Question 5: Recite a shloka from Gita and tell me from which Adhyaya it is taken? Also, tell it's meaning?
Answer: I recited one of the shlokas but I didn't know the Adhyaya and I also explained it's meaning pretty well. ( I had prepared for this thing since it was related to my hometown)
Question 6: You have got a B-certificate in NCC. What are the criteria for giving these certificates?
Answer: We need to clear an exam to get the certificate. At the school level, there is an A-certificate and then, according to the number of years and the camps attended in the meantime, subsequently, you will get B and C-certificates.”
Mention 3 reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted.
Niharika: “I converted IMI Delhi, IRMA Ananda, and all the other new IIMs under CAP process and I chose IIM Udaipur for the following reasons :
- It is an IIM and the tag does matter.
- Among the new IIMs, it's growing the fastest and has got some certifications that only IIM A, B, and C possess currently.
- Its faculty is academically well versed and used to be mentored by IIM Ahmedabad faculty once.”
What was the reason for you not converting other colleges? (if any)
Niharika: “I didn't convert IMT Ghaziabad and the old IIMs. I was not able to clear a sectional cutoff (in VARC) and thus, was not shortlisted for the BLACK IS interview. So, I would say it is very important to focus on all the sections equally and not to stress out on D-Day. (since I went numb in the VARC section because of stress)
Also, I think I was not shortlisted by IMT Ghaziabad because of my interview. I was very much nervous since it was my first interview in the series. I had given some mock interviews earlier but still, I was not well versed with all the stress and anxiety that comes with a real interview."
