Millia Institute of technology

Dr. A. Imam is the Director at Millia Institute of Technology, Purnea. He keeps a practical approach towards the learning and teaching process and introduces a multidisciplinary approach towards education. He believes that motivating others and taking everyone together towards strategy and planning is what drives an institution towards success. Read here what he has to say in his interview.

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“A leader is someone who plans strategically and executes it well”

A leader is someone who knows how to perform in an odd situation. And as a leader, one should never disclose his/her ambitions, and if you are disclosing it, then I am sorry to say “my friend”, it is not your ambition any more.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Priority and planning is of utmost importance”

Your preparation will depend on two things, i.e. your priority & your planning. And if you want to play the game, you must have a clear cut understanding of the laws of that game. And be fearless because fear is a mechanism to eliminate weak people from the race.

How does the curriculum of XYZ College/University ensure the best practice of industry?

“It is essential for students to understand the industry trends”

Well, you must have heard that the “World is all about interest” and if you want to make new relations with someone, then the first thing which you need to do is to find their interest. And in a professional course, our prime focus is on developing relations with industries. It would be possible only when we will serve the interest of industries by designing our curriculum to teach the skill sets in students for the industry. It will satisfy the law of demand & supply on which the market & the world runs.

Any insights into how your institution could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“We make sure that students are not deprived of education”

One of the prime objectives of Millia Education Trust is to provide education to those who come from a weaker section & poor background so that not even a single child should get deprived of getting an education. Every child has the potential to do something & their poor background must not be a barrier for them in their path of transformation of their potentiality into reality.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students are?

“It is our responsibility to help ignite the potential of our students”

My role is to create an environment where every student should get an opportunity to realize their potential via continuous monitoring & thus helping them to transform their potentiality into reality with the efficient group of the team which we have at MIT, Purnea.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“The social and emotional well-being of the students is of utmost importance”

Our priority would be to train students in such a manner that they can take the best possible advantage of Demographic Dividend, which is currently in our favour. It requires infrastructure development and developing relations with industries and provides the required skill sets. Other priorities would be to teach life skills, which is missing in many students. It would be helpful for the social and emotional well-being of students. And last but not least, we would always try to follow the path of sustainable development.
