When you joined MIT, what was your vision for the institute and how are you trying to achieve the same?

"Producing best professionals and individual was my goal"

My objective when I joined this amazing institute was to educate our students, make them ethically strong and technically proficient professionals, an effective problem-solvers for society and life-long learners as individuals, who can contribute positively to the economic well-being of our region and nation and who are prepared to tackle complex challenges to face the world. And to achieve my goal, I along with the support of my amazing team follow the concept of summative and formative assessment.

What challenges are you facing to uplift the education quality of your department?

"Lack on interest in students towards their studies is a real challenge for us"

The biggest challenge in today's time is to make students aware about the differences between learning and accepting, because they study just to get good marks and rarely try to retain and implement that knowledge for finding out solutions for actual world issues. And bridging the skills gap this inattentive attitude of students creates in them is another hurdle for us but we try our best to educate and guide them in the right direction as we are committed to help them secure a bright future for themselves.

How do you prepare your students for the outside competitive world?

"We organize competitions on frequent basis to prepare our students for the outside world"

It has been found in a research that 1 out of every 3 interns do not work either due to lack of required skills and knowledge or simply because they don't want to work at all. And to ensure that this practice does not affect our students, we conduct healthy competitions by identifying students' areas of interests from time to time and encourage them to participate in the same. And we also ask them to come forward and present their own innovative ideas for real world issues in order to give a boost to their confidence and make them industry and society ready.

How do you bring in a practical and industry oriented approach towards subjects?

"By staying updated with latest technologies and organizing workshops in collaboration with industry experts"

For the purpose of ensuring a practical and industry driven approach towards subjects, it's very important to stay updated with the latest industrial trends and developments along with their requirements. Therefore on a regular basis we organize discussion sessions to educate our students about what's happening in Industries and what are their expectations from them, all this helps our students to develop essential skills. In addition to this, we try our best to implement current technologies and trends into our curriculum by organizing experiments and practicals. Lastly, we invite eminent professionals and industry experts to take workshops for the benefit of our students as well as faculty members.

How do you establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

"By interacting with them on individual basis and ensuring a trustworthy working-learning environment"

I firmly believe that to maintain a good relationship with my students, my one-on-one interaction with them is very essential as by closely knowing them, their interests and passion, I can address and fix their academic, behavioral and other issues on a timely basis. Apart from this, I ensure that during any college event I remain available to support and guide them. And when it comes to my fellow faculties, I maintain a cordial relationship with them by establishing a trustworthy and transparent communication environment and supportive working culture, because working as a team helps us to accomplish our goals in a better way.

Any valuable advice which you would like to share with the students for a prosperous career ahead?

"Try to become a better version of yourself and keep learning new things"

I would like to advise my dear students to not believe the myth of being yourself. Keep upgrading your knowledge and knowledge as you are your only competition. Also develop yourself in both personal and professional fronts and never settle for less than what you deserve just because of fear of failure. And don't stay in your comfort zone for too long, else you won't think of setting new goals and challenging yourself. All in all, your comfort zone could become a hurdle in your journey of success.
