Dr Neeraj Kumar Gupta is the Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at KIET Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad. He has a rich experience of over 20 years in academics, teaching and research. He has completed his B.Tech (Electrical Engineering), M.Tech (VLSI Design) and Ph.D. He has also worked as a Counsellor for the students and In charge of the Computer-Aided Design lab in the Electrical and Electronics Department. He has been awarded several times for his contribution to the education sector.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty? 

“An open platform for communication and grievance redressal is available”

  • As a HOD, I often make informal visits to the cabins of fellow faculty and student workplace to discuss matters.
  • I encourage the students and faculty when they approach my office with a problem, by suggesting a suitable solution
  • Organizing Institute level social gatherings before Festivals

What has been your vision for this institution?

“To achieve excellence in technical education and create competent professionals for Industry”

I always wanted to serve in an Educational Institution, so that I can serve the citizens of my Country. Fulfilling my social responsibility to the best satisfaction of my students is essential. Therefore, I aligned myself with the vision of our Institute and created a departmental vision to fulfil the same. The aim is to achieve excellence in imparting education in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering by creating competent professionals.

Extracurricular activities like KIET Sports Fest, Annual cultural fest and different students clubs are organized regularly. Additionally, INNOTECH, an annual Inter-Institute, International Project Display Competition is also organized by our college.

Our curriculum includes additional skill courses like AIML, E-vehicle Fabrication and modelling, Smart System Design etc. We also have a unique Industry Interaction program curated for the benefit of faculty members and students. Interdisciplinary problem-solving skills is the buzzword in today’s scenario. Projects have to be given due weightage and conversion to prototype and launching in the market is essential. Also, I would implore them to gain the knowledge of the other branches as well.
