TANATA 2022 Eligibility requires the candidates to score atleast secure a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics as the compulsory subject. Candidates should have completed their 10+3 diploma in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics. Candidates should have passed International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics. Also, they must have completed ten years of schooling.

Tamil Nadu Aptitude Test in Architecture (TANATA) is a state level examination conducted by Anna University, Chennai, to provide admissions to students for undergraduate courses in Architecture. Candidates willing to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from any private or government college in Tamil Nadu, need to take up this examination. TANATA 2022 scores will be valid for the period for the academic session 2022-23 only.

TANATA 2022 Eligibility Criteria

TANATA eligibility Criteria is set by the officials based on nativity and educational qualification. Given below are the criteria for the previous year's TANATA exam applicants. Candidates who fulfill the eligibility requirements could proceed towards application form filling. Eligibility requirements for TANATA 2022 are as follows:

  1. Nativity/ Residential Requirements

Candidates who belong to Tamil Nadu as well as other states can apply for TANATA provided they meet the residential requirements set by the authorities. Here are the residential requirements for candidates:

  • Candidates from Tamil Nadu who have cleared classes VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII in Tamil Nadu could apply for TANATA exam. These candidates did not need to upload any kind of nativity proof while applying.
  • Native Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu who cleared any of the classes VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII or their equivalent examination from schools located outside Tamil Nadu could also apply. Such candidates will be required to compulsorily upload a copy of the Nativity Certificate only in electronic form or digitally signed e-certificate.
  • Children of Central Government Employees will also be eligible to apply for the exam, regardless of their native, provided that either their parents or guardians (in case both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past Five Years at the time of online registration of the application. Candidates will be required to upload a certificate from the employer of the parent or guardian for the same.
  • Son and daughters of employees in the Public Sector or Government recognized institutions who have been working continuously for the past five years at the time of online registration could also apply irrespective of their domicile. Such candidates will be required to compulsorily attach a certificate from the employer along with the application. The certificate should state that the person is a permanent employee of the institution or firm concerned with evidence such as Income Tax return, PF Slips, etc. and is working in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years.
  • Candidates from other states who have studied classes VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII in Tamil Nadu will be eligible for applying. These candidates did not have to upload a Nativity Certificate.
  • Children of All India Service Tamil Nadu cadre will also be eligible to apply for TANATA examination.

Note:

  • Applications from applicants falling in the second category, who did not upload a proper Nativity Certificate will be rejected immediately.
  • Applications from candidates belonging to the third and fourth categories, who did not upload proper Employee Certificates will not be considered.
  • Only Tamil Nadu native applicants will be considered for communal reservation. Those candidates belonging to other states will be considered under “Open Competition”.
  1. Educational Qualification

Candidates who have qualified the minimum educational qualifications set by the conducting body could apply for TANATA exam. Check the minimum educational qualification required for TANATA below:

  1. HSC or Equivalent:
  • Students who have cleared their HSC exams (10 + 2) or its equivalent examination with Mathematics or Business Mathematics as one of their subjects, from a recognized board or institution can apply for TANATA exam.
  • Candidates who belonged to categories other than the SC/ SCA/ ST/ BC/ BCM/ MBC & DNC should have achieved a score of no less than 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Candidates who belong to the SC/ SCA/ ST/ BC/ BCM/ MBC & DNC categories should have achieved a score of more than 45% marks in aggregate.
  1. Diploma Holders:
  • Candidates who have cleared 10 + 3 years Diploma in any stream from an institution or college recognized by Central Government or State Government can apply for the examination.
  • Candidates who belonged to categories other than the SC/ SCA/ ST/ BC/ BCM/ MBC & DNC should have scored no less than 50% marks in aggregate in all the semesters when put together.
  • Candidates who belong to the SC/ SCA/ ST/ BC/ BCM/ MBC & DNC categories should have scored no less than 45% marks in aggregate in all the semesters when put together.
  1. International Baccalaureate Diploma:
  • Candidates who have cleared International Baccalaureate Diploma post 10 years of schooling are eligible for TANATA as well.
  • Such students should have studied Mathematics compulsorily.
  • Candidates who belonged to categories other than the SC/ SCA/ ST/ BC/ BCM/ MBC & DNC should have scored more than 50% marks in aggregate in all the semesters when put together.
  • Candidates who belonged to SC/ SCA/ ST/ BC/ BCM/ MBC & DNC categories should have scored more than 45% marks in aggregate in all the semesters when put together.

TANATA – Documents Proving Eligibility Criteria

Documents required to be uploaded by the candiadte are as follows:

  • 10th Standard Mark sheet (Scanned copy)
  • 12th Standard Mark sheet or equivalent qualifying examination mark sheet (Scanned copy)
  • Self-identity proof such as Driving license, Adhar card, Voter’s Id card, etc.
  • Transfer Certificate/ Migration Certificate/ Permanent Residence Certificate (Scanned copy)
  • Community Certificate for SC/ ST/ OBC caste candidates (Scanned copy)
  • Certificate of Employment of parents or guardian (Scanned copy)
  • Any other special category certificate (PWD, Sports, etc.)
  • If the candidate is an NRI he/ she will have to submit:
    • Valid Indian passport and visa (Scanned copy)
