  • The CAT 2025 has been scheduled tentatively for November 30, 2025, in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format.
  • The exam will consist of 68 questions divided into three sections: VARC, DILR, and QA, to be completed in 120 minutes (40 minutes per section).
  • Since 2020, the CAT syllabus has stayed consistent, with VARC holding ~35% weight, DILR and QA around 32% each.
  • In 2024, VARC was moderately challenging but high-scoring (~85% accuracy), DILR was the most difficult, and QA was the highest-scoring section, with ~90% accuracy.
  • As per the Amazon ratings, the top CAT books include Word Power Made Easy (4.7), Arun Sharma’s QA & PYQs (4.6), and Quantum CAT & VARC by Sharma-Upadhyay (4.5); others like Sinha’s QA (4.3).
  • Experts recommend that candidates attempt 30 or more full mocks and 50 or more sectional tests.

Yes, there are a total of 17,385 seats in the IITs, you can get admission into IITs with a rank of 12k in JEE Advanced. However, you will probably not get admission in top 7 IITs and in the branches which are the favourites of the most people.
