St Joseph Institute of Technology (SJIT, Chennai) BTech admission 2024 is done through the TNEA exam. The TNEA tentative exam 2024 dates have been announced. The start date of the online TNEA registration is May 4, 2024. The last date of registration for the same is June 4, 2024. Candidates can apply for TNEA through its official website.

St. Joseph's Institute of Technology started operating as an institute for higher education from 2011 with five UG courses to choose from namely, B.E. & B.Tech. IT.

In 2014, B.E. in Civil Engineering was also introduced followed by a PG course of M.E. in Communication and Networking from 2019.
The entrance to all the undergraduate courses is granted through TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions).
For postgraduate courses, the admission is granted through GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test Engineering) or TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test).
The candidates must have completed 10+2 for being eligible for undergraduate courses and B.E/B.Tech for being eligible for M.E course.

How to Apply for St. Joseph's Institute of Technology?

All the candidates who want to secure a seat in any undergraduate course of St. Joseph’s Institute of Technology have to apply for TNEA conducted by Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) every year.

The eligible students have to submit the completely filled application form.
After scrutinizing the forms, the University releases a merit list based on the marks scored in 10+2 examinations.
The selected candidates then have to report for counseling after submitting a fee of INR 5,000 (INR 1,000 for reserved categories).
The candidates will receive a call letter for counseling and they have to take the required documents with them.

Ans. No, TNEA does not conduct any kind of entrance exam. Admission is granted purely based on the eligibility and merit list released by the university. The higher the marks in 10+2 examination, the higher are the chances of admission.

Ques. Who conducts TANCET?

Ans. TANCET is also conducted by Anna University, Chennai, just like TNEA. But unlike TNEA, a pen and paper based entrance exam of 2 hours is conducted by the University.
