University of Guelph- Ridgetown campus is located in a small town with a population of around 3,000 people; halfway between London and Windsor. The village is located fifteen minutes from the shores of Lake Erie and is surrounded by wealthy local farmland.

  • The university campus library has a large collection of books, periodicals, e-books, and journal articles available online. Students can also utilize the computers, printers, and photocopiers available. They are also free to access online resources related to university-specific publications.
  • A Students Government body is active in organizing activities for on-campus students along with benefiting local charities and organizations. Each year, students are elected to serve as representatives and the student body's collective voice.
  • On-campus, there is a chaplaincy program, as well as numerous friendly local churches to help students with their spiritual needs. Students from all spiritual backgrounds are welcome on campus.
  • Students can participate in numerous extracurricular activities including intramural sports such as badminton, hockey, basketball, softball, etc. Students form teams and compete against their Ridgetown peers. The University of Guelph-Ridgetown provides on-campus residence to its students through its on-campus residence hall named Steckley Hall. International students opting to reside on-campus learn interpersonal skills, get athletic facilities as well as cafeteria services.

  • Steckley Hall Student Residence is a co-ed facility with Single room occupancy, a dorm-style setting, and a non-smoking zone. Wilson Hall Cafeteria and classrooms are a short walk away from the residence hall.
  • To complete a resident application, a 500 CAD deposit is needed which is taken from the Winter semester residence costs. After accepting an offer of admission, students who desire to live on-campus residence can apply for a room in Steckley Hall. through a separate application.
  • Students can live on campus throughout their first and second years of study. Rooms are allotted based on a first-come-first-served basis. Meal Plan is mandatory for all on-campus students, which includes 14 meals per week at the on-campus dining.

Off-Campus Residence

In Ridgetown and the surrounding region, 100-150 private off-campus housing are available for students who want to live off-campus. La Residence of Ridgetown also offers students off-campus private rooms. Students enrolled in the Associate Diploma in Equine Care and Management at REACH Huron in Clinton can also check for local lodgings available in the town of Clinton and off-campus housing listing.

University of Guelph-Ridgetown campus offers an associate diploma in 5 programs and 1 certificate program; 1 apprenticeship program is also available. An Associate Diploma is a 2 or 3-year curriculum that consists of intensive, hands-on instruction in a chosen subject.

  • There is a 1-year certificate program available in Veterinary Assistant and Administrative Assistant majors under which hands-on training is provided to enrolled students.
  • The campus also provides the Dairy Herdsperson apprenticeship program along with classroom instructions, which is a part of an apprentice’s training.

There is an ELCP Advanced Level of the English Language Certificate Program offered by the University of Guelph. The English proficiency requirement can also be met through successful completion of the University of Guelph’s Open Learning Advanced level ELCP (levels 9 and 10).[29]

How do I get my transcripts credentials evaluated?

World Education Services (WES) is an international credential evaluation agency. It is recommended by the university in case post-secondary a credential evaluation of international transcripts’ is required. A certified and course-by-course evaluation is mandatory.

How should I submit my academic documents to complete the application?

Documentation for the applicant's application can be provided directly to the Ridgetown Campus Registrarial Services office. It can also be transferred to www.ontariocolleges.ca where it will be posted to the application profile of the international applicant.

Are English proficiency test scores mandatory or any kind of exemption is available?

English language proficiency score is mandatory for all international students to complete the application with some exceptions. If an international applicant has English as their native language or if they have completed 4 years of high-school studies in an English-language school system, then they can be exempted to provide English proficiency test scores.

Can I mail my transcripts to the university campus address?

The admission committee requires Official documentation to be sent directly from the previously attended institution or accredited body in a sealed envelope. Certified translated documents should also be supplied directly from the concerned organization.

Is the document submission date the same as the application submission date?

The document submission date for all programs is April 1 except for Veterinary Technology whose deadline is February 15. These documents must be final and authentic; incomplete documents are not accepted.

Can international applicants be later required to ask SAT or ACT?

No. The international applicants do not need to provide SAT or ACT scores to complete the application form. Also, they will not be asked later on to submit the same.
