University of Alaska Campus and Accommodations

The main campus of University of Alaska, Anchorage is situated in the center of a green area, nearby ponds, lakes and nature. It connects to a citywide trail network that is ideal for student’s current lifestyles. Eagle River Campus offers curriculum and programs to satisfy the requirements of the campus through post-secondary programs, professional development and academic support.

University of Alaska Anchorage consists of eight different community campuses and research centers. Elmendorf Air Force Base offers training to approximately 1,000 civilian and military applicants at field and on site. Military courses are offered that are customized to address the specific needs of military members as obtaining a degree comes with added obstacles due to regular transfers.

University of Alaska Accommodation

University of Alaska Anchorage offers great housing options mostly through residential halls, apartments and special arrangements. Residence halls are home to nearly 200 students and contain common rooms with shared kitchens, study and social interaction lounges and laundry service.

Apartments are available at Main Apartment Complex and Templewood Apartments. The Main Apartment has four individual bedrooms with a shared kitchen, living room,bathroom, and store room. Templewood Apartment provides seventeen townhouse style apartments. Apartments are limited in number and are generally reserved for students above 21 years old.

A variety of homes and suites are built especially to ensure students with temporary as well as severe disabilities. Furniture which is barrier free, bed shakers, shower benches, fire sirens, and strobe lights are easily accessible.

University of Alaska Programs

Students can seek consultation with an academic advisor in choosing the appropriate course for them. Programs at the University of Alaska Anchorage include occupational endorsements and bachelor’s certificate, associate degree, bachelor degree, post-baccalaureate degree, minors. It offers occupational endorsement certificates in advance welding, culinary arts, pharmacy technology, and other activities. There are bachelor’s certificates for students across in science discipline. Specialty programs are offered in Army ROTC, Air force ROTC and university honors scholars. It doesn’t award any certificate or degree to the students.
