The MSF program has an innovative curriculum that provides you with a strong foundation in the principles and practices of finance. The program also introduces you to the emerging concepts, practices, and technologies necessary to be successful in today’s finance industry. The fifteen month program begins in August of each year.

The Illinois MSF is a generalist graduate program in finance. The MSF program begins in August each year and is completed in three semesters (fall, spring, fall). Most core courses would be completed in the first fall semester; however, dependent upon a student’s background and career goals, some core courses may be substituted or taken in the spring semester.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Requirements:

  • Must have a bachelors degree from an accredited college in a relevant field of study
  • Should have minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0
  • Applicant should have completed one undergraduate course each in computer science, financial accounting, managerial accounting, and principles of economics as well as two courses each in calculus, probability and statistics, and financial management
  • Submit GRE/GMAT scores 

English Language Requirements:

  • TOEFL: minimum 103 in IBT
  • IELTS academic: minimum 7.0 
  • Duolingo: minimum 135 required

Indian Student Specific Requirements:

  • Must have scored 55 or more in bachelors degree
  • Must have completed 4 years bachelors degree or 3 years bachelors degree + 2 years masters degree
