  • The field of finance covers the economics of claims on resources. Financial economists study the valuation of these claims, the markets in which they are traded, and their use by individuals, corporations, and the society at large.
  • The finance faculty and doctoral students study a wide spectrum of financial topics, including the pricing and valuation of assets, the behavior of financial markets, and the structure and financial decision-making of firms and financial intermediaries.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

  • Academic Eligibility:

  • Students must complete a master's degree from a recognized institution.
  • The average cumulative high school GPA of students admitted to Stanford is 3.96 on a 4.0 scale.
  • GRE general test scores optional.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Completed a graduate degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
