The Fluids and Thermal Sciences (FTS) Group utilizes theoretical, experimental, and computational methodologies to investigate a wide range of fundamental and practical fluid dynamical systems and physical phenomena.
Research in the Group typically emphasizes a sound understanding of the underlying fundamentals that govern a particular system or process, but with a vision for broader impacts, industrial applications, and opportunities for commercialization.
Both faculty and students in the Fluids and Thermal Sciences Group come from a diverse set of backgrounds that range from mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, aeronautical/aerospace engineering, physics, and physical chemistry.
The FTS Group is highly collaborative with faculty and researchers from other groups in the School of Engineering, Physics, Biology and Medicine, Evolutionary Biology, Applied Mathematics, and Computer Science.
The MSc program consists of 8-semester courses (8 tuition units).

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, applied math, or computer science or equivalent from a recognized institution.
A GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 is required to be eligible for the program.
Past coursework should generally cover topics in math (e.g., multivariable calculus, differential equations, linear algebra) as well as physics (e.g., statics, electromagnetism, circuits), chemistry (e.g., materials), and/or biology (e.g., cell biology, biochemistry, anatomy/physiology), with flexibility related to the exact courses taken

Indian Student Eligibility:

Students must complete an undergraduate degree with first-class in a relevant field from a highly ranked university in India.
Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
