The programme offered by  culminates in a year-long, term-based, senior capstone design experience. Preparation for high-level professional practice is emphasized. The Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is the first step toward registration as a Professional Engineer (PE), an important professional credential for civil engineers. Thus, students in this major are strongly encouraged to take the FE exam prior to graduation. Graduates of our Civil Engineering major consistently have a passing rate on the FE exam that is significantly above the national average.

Participation in internships, volunteer activities, professional organizations, and cooperative education opportunities is highly recommended to enhance practical training and development. Graduates who pursue advanced studies are prepared for higher level technical responsibilities.
