A Sunny Day at CSUN.

I currently go to CSUN as a CTVA (Film/Television) Student and I love the opportunities I get to have as a CSUN CTVA student. Compared to many film schools in SoCal. CSUN is very affordable and many of my professors do work within the Film/TV industry in Los Angeles.

Course Curriculum :

I personally love the course curriculum since it is very relevant to my future career and what I want to do in life. I am a film student so the course curriculum is very relevant to me and what I am learning is very unique to a lot of other courses as well.

Exams :

I took the SAT and ACT in my senior year of high school. Exams only required for incoming freshmen. University level exams were only for freshman math/English courses.

Placement :

Placements and job opportunities are usually through luck since the film/television industry is very competitive and many find jobs due to current/previous internships. My university, however, has a career center where you can apply for jobs that are within the film/tv industry.

Internship :

Yes, they do offer internships. Paid or unpaid internships that are relevant to film students. Many of them aren't paid with a stipend at the end of the internship. However, I hadn't applied to an internship yet due to working two jobs outside of my classes.

Events :

There are a lot of events going on at CSUN. Many of them are Greek based. Some are multicultural and activist based. Many are just aimed at the student body as a whole. But there is always an event for everyone and for anyone.

Fees :

Tuition is usually $16k a year. Fees range from parking passes, student health fees, and if you are a housing student. Housing fees do apply.

Scholarship :

The financial aid process was easy due to the FAFSA and my classes were paid for due to the FAFSA. Scholarships were a bit difficult for me to find and to get since I had to apply and look all over for one. It got overwhelming to look for scholarships.

Examination Structure :

The exam structures are mostly midterms/final exams. Most of my classes have quizzes on the subject matter. Many of my midterms/final exams are based on projects my professors give out. It can be a short film or whatever the professors would bring out.

Faculty :

I personally love the faculty and how nice they are to the students in my class. Many of them push you to do better and harder if you truly want to pursue a career in film/television.

Hostel :

I did the dorms in my freshman year. I liked it but I also like being off campus more since it is a bit cheaper than living on campus. I also liked the vibe of being on campus but it was a bit pricy for me and I was working a lot so I couldn't enjoy the dorm experience.
