Sakshi Manghnani Review at California State University [CAL STATE LA], Los Angeles | Collegedunia

Awesome place to study and make friends!

I was sure I wanted this course and had a good review from senior’s about the professors and also the course were also offered which I was interested in. Also the fees is not High so that’s a good plus as well.

Course Curriculum :

The courses offered were good and something I was interested in, the curriculum was not complicated and gave enough time to students to complete the course at their pace. Also offered summer and winter courses which were 4 weeks only.

Exams :

IELTS:7.0 GRE: 300 ( good score) , TOEFL: 100/120 My score IELTS:7.5 GRE:297(writing :4.0 , quant:143 verbal :154 )

Placement :

You do have some campus placements but most of the ones that are there do not sponsor your visa. So it’s in your hands after your graduation to find a job and get sponsorship as well. They are not really that great with the jobs and placement. Though you do have some people getting into these companies the ratio is very low. This is what I have mostly heard as well.

Internship :

No I did not get an internship as I still have 2 semesters left.

Fees :

The fees is pretty cheap compared to other universities in California, per unit fees is around $3000 which also includes all the fees for one course , so it would be around $9000 a semester if you take 3 courses. Which is not much compared to other colleges.

Scholarship :

No I did not apply for scholarship, but there are various scholarships available based on your grades.

Faculty :

The faculty is very friendly and understanding, you can ask them any doubts you have and are very patient with you. They also schedule meetings with you personally so you can make the most of your time. They do not burden you with a lot of work as well.

Campus Life :

The campus life is quite fun you do have various activities every month, you can win gift cards, cash prizes and hoodies as well. They upload everything on social media and also have food pantry for students every week where you can just sign up and collect your grocery bag. They have computers and library facilities as well and good WiFi throughout the campus and also have ATM around the campus.

Hostel :

You have accommodations on campus as well, dorms but they are kind of costly around $1000 per person for shared room. But you have plenty of options around the campus with Indian roommates which would be like $500-$600 a month sharing depending on the place and utilities. You have transportation from everywhere so it’s easy to commute as well.
