FAQs

Ques. If my institution does not give unofficial transcripts, how can I upload one?

Ans. You must request an official transcript if your university does not provide an unofficial or online student copy of the transcript. Open, scan, and upload that copy into the online application form. Request two copies from the issuing institution, one of which should be kept unopened, so that if you are accepted, you will have an official copy to transmit to the Office of Admission prior to registration. Only accepted applicants must submit an official transcript.

Ques. Is it possible for me to apply to more than one Ph.D. program?

Ans. During the current admissions cycle, you can only apply to one Ph.D. program at a time. A few Ph.D. programs will consider you for both the doctoral and the master's programs at the same time. If you have been denied admission to a Ph.D. school but would like to be considered for another program that is still taking applications in that admissions cycle, you must complete a separate online application.

Ques. What should I look for in a research mentor and when should I begin my research?

Ans. In the fall of their first year, graduate students attend research seminars to learn about the numerous research options available. In order to better familiarise themselves with the professors and their research, first-year students are obliged to participate in two research lab rotations during the first semester. Mentors are chosen in December, and all students should begin their studies by the spring of their first year.
